Jeter against Yanks a strange sight

I am sitting here watching the Yankees take on Team USA in an exhibition game this afternoon. How weird is it to see Derek Jeter playing against the Yankees?

By the way, does anyone really give a hoot about the World Baseball Classic? I could care less.

Nope sure don't.

I’ll watch as much of the Classic as I do basketball….which is to say I may or may not watch the finals. Depends on what else is going on.

i'll watch it

because it will be baseball, and it will be on. as far as really caring- all i care about is that none of the yanks’ boys get injured.

Those of us old timers who can still remember the original

WBC in aught 6 will probably recall hearing and saying similar sentiments and then being pleasantly surprised at the quality and excitement of the tournament.

I'm happy just

to have some baseball to watch, it beats the rest of that drivel on TV. Never thought I’d be happy to hear Michael Kay again…

Call me extra cautious

but why was Jeter playing a full nine innings in a WBC EXHIBITION! game? The Yankees did put up a good fight to the end versus that OTHER team.

World Baseball Classic Blows

I’m heading to Tampa with my wife this weekend. We’d planned the trip last year without knowing the WBC schedule. Because of this inane series, I’m going to miss Jeter, Cano, Arod, Chipper Jones. I hate the World Baseball Classic.

I enjoyed todays game.

Phi Coke looked great-only one hit in 2.3 innings. Gardner played his game and continues to impress.

And seeing a 2-3 of Jeter, and Chipper took the cake. They were the burr in the Yankees saddle all day.

Yeah but ...

the sabermetric-heads will quickly point out that Jeter is overrated, has no range and needs to move to centerfield to save his downward-spiraling career.
