Schilling retires -- good riddance!

I am glad to hear that this guy is finally leaving the game. I have never liked him as a player and he definitely won’t be missed by many.

My reasons for not liking him are not because he was a Diamondback back in 2001 and played for the Red Sox. I just don’t like him. His attitude is full of arrogance and egocentrism. I couldn’t stand him as a player (no matter how good a pitcher he was). When he was with Boston, he was the player on the team that annoyed me most. Now since he’s gone…Jonathan Papelcrap has been elevated to Schilling’s slot, followed closely behind Kevin Youkilis.

So good riddance Curt Schilling. Now he can enjoy that mouth cancer stuff he likes to chew so much all he wants to during his retirement.

I would just like to say that I too have “zero regrets” that he is retiring.

Oh wait no he wont. That dude was probably the biggest a-hole in the MLB. Yeah he was a good pitcher there was no denying that but he loved to talk a lot about other players which was really annoying. The funny thing he started talking more after he won championships.

but was an even better entertainer. I thought he was good for the game. Unlike the others here, I don’t have anything against Schilling.

Hey guys LOOOOOK at me! I’m a Red Sox fan (I only became one in 2004 when it became popular) and I think the Yankees suck! I only type in bold print so I look cool and stand out like an idiot. Only we think that a-holes like Schilling are gods. We don’t worry about the fact that he created more problems off the field and whined like a baby himseld all the time.

But I digress…what are you getting at in your post? It’s not like the Yankees don’t have any. In fact, they have more than anyone else. And as a baseball fan and someone who has watched the game for a while, I have a hard time seeing Curt Schilling going into the Hall of Fame. Getting into the Hall of Fame is not 100% about how well a guy played. It’s also about his character, his sportsmanship, his attidue. Curt Schilling may have been a good pitcher but his attitude was nothing short of detrimental and just plain annoying. Only a man with his type of attitude could fit in a city with the same type of fans.

Take a look at this article that compares Schilling to other pitchers of his era who are not in the Hall of Fame and have been retired for some time now.

I don’t care if Schilling goes into the Hall of Fame or not.

All I can say is I am happy he is going away.

Now we can begin the happy task of forgetting him.

“Getting into the Hall of Fame is not 100% about how well a guy played. It’s also about his character, his sportsmanship, his attidue…” ahhh, then where would Ty Cobb be. Again: IF those would be the criteria, then Alex has No Chance-as would every other steroid user (especially those who deny/ied using when the truth points in another direction).

to all who detest Curt Schilling: Let’s see-the Yankees signed Alex at the same time as Theo the Great signed Curt. Hmmmm: results?

The thing is too: all of you NY fans never get to see or hear about all of the “good and charitable things” that Curt & Shonda do and have done in and for the greater New England community.
