Hughes optioned to Scranton
Which, IMHO, is the absolute best place for him to start the season. Let him pitch and gain some confidence. He was rushed to the big leagues and that has set him back. This way he can pitch some, then come up later in the year and help the Yankees.

Agreed.
Hughes impressed me by showing up to camp ready to kick some ass despite the fact he had little to no shot of making the big team. He needs some consistency with his secondary stuff and to stay healthy. He’ll probably get his 10 or 15 starts this year between injuries and call ups and be ready to take over Pettite’s spot in the rotation come 2010.
Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

He'll be back
Hughes has looked great this spring. I’ve recorded and watched all of the televised Yankee spring training games thus far. With Joba on a season innings count, I’m sure we’ll see plenty of Hughes this year. In his most recent outing, Hughes was working on curveball and changeup. He didn’t record any strikeouts yet was effective. On any other ML staff, he’s ready and would be in its starting five.
