Manny and the Mets
Manny Ramirez rejected a one-year, $25 million offer from the Dodgers. He's still hoping for a 4-5 year deal, although I don't think anyone's crazy enough to go there (Tom Hicks being the exception).
- CitiGroup may try to get out of its $400 million commitment to the Mets. It may not even be called CitiField when it opens. The poor Mets - nothing seems to go right for them.

It all started ...
with that weak-ass arm patch that more closely resembled a pregnancy strip.

As much as I hate you sons-a-bitches
That’s funny as hell.
I look forward to watching the federally funded, tax-payed-for Yankees squander the best talent in baseball again this season.

federally funded??
the only thing the yanks got from the city- not the federal government- were tax-exempt loans. that will be paid back. New Yankee Stadium is a privately funded stadium. People read headlines in the paper without knowing how it’s actually working.

Excuse me
Not federal, but certainly not private.
State lawmakers and fiscal watchdog groups cried foul Thursday over the Yankees’ bid for another $350 million in public financing for their new stadium, saying it could soak up funds needed for parks and transportation.

financing= loans
When you finance the purchase of a car, you agree to pay that money back.
They aren’t just giving the Yankees the money. Are the Yanks getting a tax break? Hell yes. But they will be paying the money they are getting back. It’s a fine line, I will agree, but it’s not exactly a cash gift.
Your beloved Mets are getting the same help from the city as well.

I love you too, Lou
Here’s to the Yankees finishing first in the AL and the Mets doing the same in the NL. After that, I’ll take my chances in the World Series.

I can agree to that!
Here’s to next this season!
