What he said
Rodriguez, who reiterated that he used the drug when he played for the Texas Rangers from 2001-03, said he and a cousin, whom he would not identify, acquired the drug in the Dominican Republic and that the cousin injected him with it twice a month.
He called the experience "amateur hour." But he also said, "I knew we weren't taking Tic Tacs."
"We went without the team doctors, the team trainers, just two guys doing it," Rodriguez said. "I'm not sure if we were even doing it right."
Rodriguez also said that he has never used human growth hormone.
I only wish this was the end...

Do you like this story?

bottom line
if you didn’t like the guy before, you don’t like him today. if you don’t think he’s truthful, then he lied today. this story will not die, and people’s opinions will not suddenly be swayed by a press conference or a press release.
what’s irking me at this point is the press wanting more… like he owes it to them. like they should know his cousin’s name and home address and social security number. what he took, how he took it, and where and who with, blah blah.. he’s admitted that he used. he admitted he made a mistake. that’s all he owes anyone, in my opinion. all the other shit is just selling more papers.
and frankly i believe he’s contrite. and more frankly- i really don’t give two shits. i just want him to hit the ball when it matters. that’s it. as far as the kids- those may be too young not to completely understand what’s going on, all the parents need do is point out what the guy is having to go through to clear his name. and those who are old enough- if they see all this crap and still decide to take steroids- it’s on them.
the press will keep wanting more...
… until the next big story breaks, most likely.
During the September financial crisis, my wife was trying to get media coverage in the financial news for the non-profit she does work for, but was not getting any media hits. This was when the first 5-8 pages of the WSJ was all about the financial meltdown and nothing else. I told her to wait a week or to for the news cycle to work though, and then the media would be looking for the next big story. Sure enough, a week or two later, she got multiple media hits. Guess it’s the way the media works….
oh i know they'll want more...
…but he owes them nothing.
