I hope Scott Boras sees this.

Cashman is slapping it on the table this offseason eh?

I hate to say it,

But it looks as if Matsui will not return. As much as I would like him to, he wants to play the OF, something the Yankees are probably unwilling to offer. He is a class act. Out of respect for the Yankees, he is waiting to see what the Yanks will offer him, He dosen’t want lots of money or years, just the OF. This ones to you, Hideki.

Agreed

100% gentleman and professional. I would love you to be back next year. But if it is time for us to part ways. I will wear my Hideki World Series jersey with pride and love

Maybe he'll come back one day to visit

Something similar to Tino’s situation. Not play, but visit. Old Timers?

Turn left and right, up and down

You will find a power hitting lefty that hits lefties WELL and is money in the clutch, and whom happened to drive in 6 runs in a WS clinching game?

LOL!

I sure as hell hope so.

I can’t think of ever if a team was ‘coveting’ one of the Yankees young players.

I say fleece em for all they got!

I can live with trading Melky,

but that probably means Damon IS coming back. No, I’m not settling for DeRosa in LF.

by Vancouverguy on Dec 9, 2009 9:26 PM EST up reply actions

yeah...

Melky will never be an everyday player for us, so it’s not entirely upsetting to trade him if we can get something good back.

by Wraithpk on Dec 9, 2009 9:30 PM EST up reply actions

WHAT?

I don’t completely disagree that he is someone who could be traded for the right return, but he never is going to be an everyday player? Where have you been for the last couple of years? He is an everyday player.

by Mr. h on Dec 9, 2009 9:45 PM EST up reply actions

he is an everyday player cuz there was no replacement.

If you were here the past couple years, you’d realize that Melky is far from someon that is not upgradable at his position.

If there's anything I'm sure of, its the Sun coming up in the morning, and Steve Smith.

by FreeBradshaw on Dec 9, 2009 9:55 PM EST up reply actions

ok, let me edit my statement: he shouldn’t be an everyday player for the Yankees.

by Wraithpk on Dec 9, 2009 10:19 PM EST up reply actions

Did he pose for Playgirl or something?

Melky vs Gardner

can’t very well trade them both, without getting cover for a 4th OF.

Which one to trade I guess will largely depend on what we get back.

by Vancouverguy on Dec 9, 2009 10:06 PM EST up reply actions

Gardner for Greinke straight up? /dream

by Wraithpk on Dec 9, 2009 10:19 PM EST up reply actions

I like your thinking...

maybe a little Aramis Ramirez for Melky, and moving him to LF? That sounds pretty darn good too.

by Vancouverguy on Dec 9, 2009 11:03 PM EST up reply actions

I bet HanRam plays a solid LF

+300000

Are the Marlins looking at one of Melky/Gardner too? I didn’t know! Too bad they let go of Lindstrom too early, I wouldn’t mind another guy throwing gas out of the pen, and seems like he can out-pitch Farnsworth.

by Vancouverguy on Dec 9, 2009 11:49 PM EST up reply actions

Cody Ransom for HanRam. That’s a fair trade

by Wraithpk on Dec 10, 2009 11:57 AM EST up reply actions

I hope Boras listens to this

otherwise, Damon’s only chance to return is to take a page out of A-Rod’s book and kick Boras to the curb and just accept himself. If Boras does his usual shit about how Damon is worth Jeter money (are you shitting me Boras?), then we can say goodbye to Johnny.

I still have a good feeling that Damon will return though. Can’t say the same about Matsui. We’ll see what happens.

There’s nothing official on Halladay yet..just an Angels offer, that includes 28 year old mediocrity Joe Saunders.

Having 2 guys

who can come back, DH, and play a little OF when we need them is great. I doubt we end up with both… but we can play them against each other and get the one we consider the best value.
