Yankees interested in Reed Johnson
He hits lefties well and plays every outfield position.

Interesting.... I would rather see Nady though. Johnson would be a good PH against Lefties in the later innings.
This could get interesting by tomorrow or even tonight.
i would guess by ton

I personally would go with nady….But Reed has good D..a good average…he’ll put it in play….
Can’t wait to see who plays LF…hope Nady is one of cashmans options though…

Nady or Damon
would be my two choices. I think they should wait out Damon and see if he brings down his price. He’s the better option between the two, and Nady is being completely ignored by every other team that they can afford to wait out JD and not worry about someone signing their other option.
We’ll see what happens. Just hope that whoever it is, Damon, Nady, Johnson, Holliday, or whoever else, that it leads to a 28th World Championship and another user-name change for you a year from now.
Nady is a much better option here. Pay him $3 million and put Gardner in LF until June
1. We don’t need someone at all 3 OF positions (we have Gardner as our super-4th)…we just need a corner guy who can hit lefties.
2. Johnson is historically worse with the bat than Melky was, and he’s certainly not a better defender than Gardner…so where is the upgrade?
3. Nady is worse in LF than Gardner or Johnson (probably better than Damon), but he’s a MUCH better hitter than either of those two. So he’s actually giving the team something different, while Reed Johnson is at best a right-handed Melky Cabrera.
4. Johnson isn’t less of an injury concern than Nady (feet, not elbow).
Seems pretty simple to me. If the elbow concerns aren’t too strong, sign him for $2-3 million and hope he’s ready to come up in May or June. Put Brett/Hoffmann in LF until then.
Can the Yankees
not play with a Left Fielder? I do not like any of these options. Reed Johnson? XNady? Hoffman? Brett Gardner? I am happy with Granderson in Center and Swisher in Right, not with these options in Left.
Reed Johnson doesnt make it for me
I would rather see Gardner get a shot, and I wouldnt be opposed to Nady being brought back.
Reed Jhonson
makes plenty of sence. He plays vs lefties and Gardner against righties. No different than Melky and Gardner spliting time.
