I didn't think it was possible

But the red hat makes his head look even bigger.

Wishing him nothing but the best

but seeing him in another uniform is quite unsettling

that sux

Now we get better at DH with Nick Johnson?

Anybody in the mood for a repeat?

by ReggieARodJeter on Dec 16, 2009 9:20 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Yea

you looked better in a Yankees uniform Hideki. That red and Angels colors doesn’t work on you

is cashman joking with nick johnson?????????

WTF is he thinking, just get damon someone please stop cash quick

overreact much?

career .400 OBP.

Higher than Damon.

Put Johnson in the 2 hole, and enjoy the 3-R HR’s from Tex/A-Rod

Johnson out up a 122 ops+ compared to Damon's 126.

He’s also 5 years younger and most importantly can be signed for a 1 year deal as opposed to fucking around with Damon for three.

Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

by CasanovaWong on Dec 17, 2009 1:28 AM EST up reply actions

Johnson

Looks even better when comparing the new Fangraph/Tango wRC+. Johnson’s projected at around 130 while Damon’s only at around 120. If they’re DHing whoever they sign, Johnson is a much better choice. Actually, it’s true no matter what. Damon’s defense is a detriment to the team.

by metric on Dec 17, 2009 9:34 AM EST up reply actions

exactly...

Johnson, as a primary DH is probably better to the team than Damon. He’ll cost a whole lot less of course.

…plus, there’s no telling what the short porch will do for Nick.

Playing in the Nationals cavernous parks sure as hell didn’t help his HR numbers.

Its pretty wierd

but its also pretty obvious that the Yanks wanted nothing to do with him. 6.5 mil is couch change for the Yankees, if they wanted him they would have had him

Sad day for Yankee fans...

This makes me a little sad. But I guess if you can’t play for the Yanks, the Angels are the second best choice. Best of luck to Godzilla.

I know you guys have heard this from me alot this week....

So hearing it once more shouldn’t hurt none….

Ugh

…Just when I thought things couldn’t get any more depressing for me as far as Yankee stuff is concerned…

(PS, I hate the Angels, so him going to that team doesn’t make it any easier)

by jigglytuffy on Dec 17, 2009 2:03 AM EST reply actions

what??

they just won the world series.

by revived0103 on Dec 17, 2009 6:37 AM EST up reply actions

Damn...

I mean, for real?

Depressing?

Yanks won the WS. So what, the Red Sox got better….is that what’s ‘depressing’.
