Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Pitchers, Pitchers, everywhere but not a 4 to start!

Great season. But how far can the 2010 Yankees get without a full starting rotation?

Questions surround our rotation after the top two guys. Will Andy come back? Should Joba or Hughes start? Should Chien-Ming-Wang come back? Should we pursue Lackey? Maybe move a long reliever like Aceves into the starting role?

In the playoffs the single biggest thing that was mentioned as being a weakness for the Yankees was their need to use all of their starters on short rest. We need to address this especially if Andy decides to retire or sign with another team. I don't know about the rest of you but Chad Gaudin is not who I want as my regular no.4 starter.

I personally don't think Gaudin is coming back.

Yankees all day.

There should be an option...

For none of the above, because I don’t see why our rotation has to include Gaudin/Aceves/Mitre and it can’t include Joba and Hughes.

In a perfect world

CC, AJ, Andy, Joba, Hughes for the 1st half, Wang for the 2nd half.

Around the all-star break when Wang will be ready to rejoin, we shift Hughes to the ’pen to keep his IP down.

This sticker is dangerous and inconvenient, but I do love Fig Newtons.

Why is Gaudin in every option?

He’s not coming back. It’ll be CC, A.J., Andy (if he returns), Hughes, and then probably Joba, although I’d like to see him in the pen. When Wang comes back then Hughes will probably go to the pen to keep his innings down.

As far as its constructed

CC, AJ, ANdy, Joba, Hughes.

I don’t know why that’s not an option unless you know something we all don’t.

Andy is a question, no one really knows his intentions.

Joba and Hughes are in the rotation, unless they are traded (hopefully not…) or possibly they start off in AAA.
