Rivera revealed that he pitched the entire Fall Classic hiding a painful rib-cage injury, leaning on head trainer Gene Monahan to keep his clubhouse secret.
We knew he was hurting late in the Series, but not that it may have started back in the ALCS (specifically Game 6, when he threw 34 pitches).

Pretty sure this started around July-ish.
Not sure on the exact time, but I know the Yanks said that MO was hurt around the time of the Detroit series that month.
Not like it mattered….he was better once he got hurt anyway…
Maybe next year we start to see that 93mph cutter instead of the 89mph version.
DO WHAT JERRY HAIRSTON DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Though Mo showed he was shockingly effective
even with the 89MPH version.

He wasn't above 91
at really any point this regular season. Not than I’m saying he’s weak. Dude’s 40 and still coulda won the World Series MVP.
