MO was pitching HURT! ESPN interview after the game.....
That heat pad wasn't to keep loose - it was because he was hurt! Obviously - he didn't want anyone outside the Yanks to know...and he pitched hurt last night! Just watch the candid interview on ESPN with Berman, Singleton, Gammons, and Winfield shortly after the clincher. Mo - can't say enough about him. Can't say enough about this team..... F anyone who says our team has no heart. 27 TIME WORLD SERIES CHAMPION NEW YORK YANKEES!!!!!

goes to show
It was weird, goes to show the caliber of pitcher he is. It is amazing how many ppl will trash the yanks, simply because they are the best in baseball and now world champs.
@b$
It blows me away
what Mo is able to do day in and day out, even when he is hurting. We take him for granted, all of baseball does really… he inspires me as a player and a person.
He was pitching hurt
On the MLB network he said it was a rib thing, but wouldn’t go into further detail. I did notice in Game 5 that he had a wrap on the right side of his torso while in the bullpen – maybe we caught a break that he didn’t get to save that game. Even more props to him for not dragging that out for drama purposes, a la Pedro and his “cold” (in Game 2) or the “flu” (in Game 6).
Yea the nerve of pedro...and gammons was quick to defend him..
“no no i spoke with pedro and he was sick, he said he just didnt have anything, he was sick”
get the F outta heaaaa
If Pedro was sooooo sick
Why didn’t they throw J.A. Happ? The dude has been lights out for most of the year and into the playoffs. I’d rather have a healthy if inexperienced rookie going than a “wily” veteran with an 86mph fastball. Seriously, I threw that hard in high school.
The more I watch Mo
the more I am convinced he isn’t actually a human. Few remember, but in that remarkable 2003 ALCS Game 7 where he threw 3 innings and got the win he had a blister on his right thumb, right where he holds the ball for the cutter.
