I'm proud to say that these Yankees are cut from the same never-say-die cloth as the Phillies. Every game was a battle and every AB brought me more butterflies than any game I can remember. Here's to all the Philly fans who made their way to PA in the last few days with class and respect. Here's to the Phillies for the tensest, most exciting World Series in several years.
The Yankees have shown perseverance. They have show their talent and determination. They are the champions we have wished and prayed and hoped for.
Yankee fans, your faith has been reward.
Matsui is MVP.

They did it when the Phils won last year….it’s cool to see athletes at the moment they hit the pinnacle of their professions, acting like little kids again.

I am so happy for Matsui
After all his struggles since Game 3 of the 2004 ALCS. How many ghosts have we dispelled:
- Arod chokes in the post season
- CC can’t pitch in the post season
- Pettitte can’t pitch on three days rest
- Yankees can’t win in the post season
- Yankees can’t win in the post season against anyone but the Twins
- Yankees would choke needing only one game to win
All the nay sayers can go bite me.
Hey congrats here guys
And a big props to you guys here at Pinstripe alley nothing but class and nothing but great great stuff.

not that facts matter to a Moron like you
but his simulation DID forecast Game 1 to the Phillies and the next 3 games all to the Yankees
hey man...
you’ve been semi-cordial…until there.
YOu think i gave a crap the simulator predicted the Yankees to win? I could have told the simulator the Yankees will win…
So you say the simulator matters…of course coming from the king of the meaningless stats.
Good luck next year.

watching the final out online
Two things standing out: (1) who is the poor bastard who has to rush out there and give out 40 World Champion t-shirts? (2) I ask this question every year, but the Phillies, some of them at least, stuck around and watched the celebration. Why? Wouldn’t you want to get the hell out of there ASAP?

Congrats Yankees Fans
Enjoy your win, and your team, and the parades & trophy viewings and souvenirs and such. I sure did last year, but they don’t seem to come around so often in Philadelphia. We fought hard, but you clearly had more. Our offseasons begin tonight, and fwiw, I hope we meet again next season and drive that trophy right down the NJT.
For now, I lift my glass, salute the 2009 champs.

why does this bother you?
are they craping oon the Yankees? NO!
the phillies did have a good seasoi and did fight the Yankees tough
there is no reason for YOU to be a douche bag
The greatest franchise ever!
This was a really, really great and exciting season! Congrats to all the Yankees players, people in the Yankee organization and all the great Yankees fans! Yankees fans are the greatest and toughest! I am proud to say that I have seen Matsui win a championship in Tokyo and now New York! Coincidentlly(I’m not sure how to spell that) Matsui’s old team, The Yomiuri Tokyo Giants are playing for a championship right now too. New York City and Tokyo, the two greatest cities in the world!
So I'm debating which cap I should buy, I want to get one of the official ones....
Is there going to be one with a World Series Champions patch, or is it just the World Series patch?
I sit with 2 Red Sox fans next to me in 2 of my classes this semester :)
I'm getting the all-white one
Even though I honestly have no one to rub it in to anymore. Just for this moment do I wish I was back in school!
Hell, I might get the shirt too.
Seems like everyone's been thanked....
so… how about some thanks to jscape? He did a very good job moderating the flow of threads throughout the game.
And to my fellow fans, it’s been a great ride, thanks for keeping this (mostly) classy, and hella fun!
We’ll come back next year, stronger, better than ever!
Can’t wait for the off-season!

I have to apologize to all Yankee fans worldwide.
A lifelong New Yorker and Yankee fan, I relocated to Tampa, FL for work in early 2001, right after the victorious Subway Series. We know what has happened every year since.
This year, I am in Iraq, and they finally claimed #27…
I’m sorry. :D
The ghosts have officially taken up residence across the street, Girardi is vindicated, the Boss is undoubtedly weeping with joy, and I am blasting Sinatra everywhere I drive today. Thank God MLB.com ships to APO addresses; here goes my monthly pay!
