Best Commentator(s) for Playoffs?
Unabashed enthusiasm whenever the Yanks have something going against them, corny jokes that seem to come up at the worst time, no-shit-Sherlock analysis that flat-out increases the blood pressure of any Yankee (or baseball) fan listening, lame attempts to water-down Yankee positives --
Listening to Joe Buck and Tim McCarver call the playoffs is enough to put anyone on anti-depressants.
While it seems unlikely that we'll be able to get rid of them, we can come to a conclusion as to who we prefer in the booth during October here on the Alley.

What no Chip and Ron?
Miller/Morgan and Buck/McCarver make my ears bleed. Jon Miller screams at every little thing, you could replace him with JR from wrestling and it wouldnt even be noticed.

Costas and Kaat from the options...
tho Costas is eh…
My favortie announcers of all time are Clyde Frazier and Sam Rosen. 2 diff. sports, I know..yet…McCarver played baseball and buck’s dad was a HOF announcer…so that can’t be the right formula.
Maybe Marv Albert?
Of course, Scooter and Bobby Murcer will forever be my all-time booth favorites.

Marv is great, boy. Clyde is GREAT too.
But right now I’m digging MLB Network’s coverage. Freakin’ AWESOME.

Bob Costas and Al Michaels would be the best team
I do like Kaat though. I dont think big Stein liked him much though. I liked Scooter and Bill White, brings me back.

I can't think of a national announcer who I like
Bob Costas is like Joe Buck times 10. He beats everything to death and overdramatizes every play. I don’t have an answer in terms of who I’d want to do the games. They’re all irritating.

I always thought Joe Buck was a decent announcer
but after watching this series and the ALCS i wanted to slap him across the face.

Michael Kay, Al Leighter, David Cone
This sticker is dangerous and inconvenient, but I do love Fig Newtons.

Gotta have Paulie, as well.
But Leiter and Conie have my support.

I'm guessing that that Rev dude from Halos Heaven has like 8 ID's on SB Nation --
It’s also worth mentioning, by the way, that reading his tribute to the 2009 World Champs while drinking a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Dunkin’ Donuts made my week.

I don't usually go to other teams' blogs
But I just checked out the post you mentioned and read the responses. Not sure why YankeesJets bothers to go there. For Rev Halo and his 12-24 Apostles, to quote the Principal from Billy Madison: “That was one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”
I won’t go back there.

I just love to talk baseball and see it from the other perspective
how ever crazy it may be. I am starting to think RevHalo is actually Oliver Stone. With all the conspiracy theories and all.

I hear where you're coming from.
I love to get other perspectives as it keeps me from limiting mine. That said, Rev is just plain nuts (the same thought I have for Oliver Stone) as are a number of guys on that blog. There were a couple of decent guys too I guess but no need for me to go back. I applaud your efforts and patience though!

Seems like you get banned for not being liking their Hannah-Montana fanbase over there. My banning was different though — I think they’re all a bunch of minivan-driving sissies.
I have nothign against the team — in fact, I love most of the guys and their play.
The fruity fan base, though, is a little too happy for my grumpy taste. Which reminds me — ahh, winter is right around the corner. Can’t wait.

No one likes Jon Miller? --
A bit dramatic at times, fine -
But hearing him do a game is like listening to silk talk. Morgan sucks ass, the arrogant schmuck. But Miller is such a happy old man with such a great voice, and the fact that he’s TRULY unbiased puts him over McBuck any day.
I still went with Costas and Kitty, though.

Miller Sucks
He over does it on every call, especially against the Yanks on Sunday Night Baseball. I cant wait for the day the Miller/Morgan and Buck/McCarver teams are broken up.
