Today is the day.

November 4, 2009.

11/4.

If the Yankees win tonight, their postseason record is 11-4.

And it will be their 114th win of 2009.

The only people who should be worried right now are Phillies fans.

I know...

I mean…“asking if 11/4 was the same day MO blew the 2001 series” is such an insightful question.

furthermore

Andy Pettitte is pitching in his 11th postseason with the Yankees. If he wins it, it’ll be his 4th of the year.

Pedro Martinez is pitching his 11th postseason game. If he loses, it’ll be his 4th against the Yankees.

It’s in the cards, apparently.

Yes, Phillies fans should be worried

but so should us Yankee fans. Do you really want to do with an offseason of “congrats on your bought championship”?

Actually, never mind. I do look forward to that.

If they are Champions...

They win tonight convincingly. Leave no doubt.. Get ahead and stay ahead, no sweating it out in the middle innings. Hit Pedro early and often, shut down Utley, give the Yankee haters nothing to hope for. Petitte goes 6, mix and match with Joba, Marte, etc., and Mo at the slightest whiff of trouble.
The Phillies know, if the Yankees have a 1-2 run lead, they get Mo in the 8th, so they have 7 innings to get the job done, they have no tomorrow, we ( at worst, do). If the Yankees have a bigger lead, like I said before , mix and match until Mo.

I am

already pacing the floor. Will be worried until I hear Sterling make the call…approx midnight tonight. Even have my own champagne.

I cant wait to hear

That we bought this championship. Never let the yankee haters forget that there are multiple players on this team that more then contributed to making this team a TEAM. And they all got payed 1 million or less. Just tell them oh im sorry our 423.5 million acutally wasnt that effective, CC struggled at points, AJ implosion, and Tex’s lack of hitting (clutch yes but overall numbers) SO there is plenty of ammo for this off season. Never let them forget we are and will be world champions. LETS GO YANKEES!!!!!!!! i look forward to my arguments with my employees.

Here are the guys who get paid less and make a HUGE impact

Pitchers: All under 500K
Chamberlain
Hughes
Coke
Aceves
Robertson

I ask you which one of these guys had the biggest impact and what team would we be without them.

Position Players: All under 2.125 million
Cabrera
Gardner
Hinske
Pena
Harriston Jr.
Molina

Same question as above.

overall numbers for our money we spent not as much bang for our buck as the phillies, dogders, or boston based on indiviuals numbers. Anyone who says this stuff to you about bought anything just point them to the numbers, they dont lie.

AMMO ANYONE?

So...

anyone else know what the ate for breakfast today? (Honey Nut Cherrio’s BTW…). What they wore to school/work? Lunch? What they havin for dinner? What girl’s ass seemed to get bigger today?

Remember what the morning air tasted like? Smell? Sounds?

Remember those few random Philly fans / Yankee haters who wished A-Rod tears his Achilles today?(My Professor actually…)

Remember if its Sunny? Raining? Cold…Warm(F you BTW…)?

Remember where you will be watching the game tonight. Remember who you watch the game with (for me…a Pharmacotheraputics textbook…which probably means I’m gonna remember why I get a bad grade tomorrow on my exam….)

Remember EVERYTHING that happens today cuz….

THIS IS THE DAY. THIS IS WHAT THE DAY OF WINNING THE WORLD SERIES FEELS LIKE!!!!!!!!! (err…well, technically its happening tomorrow morning…)

Of course he’s “just asking”. He’s also instigating.

Mo loss not Blown Save

dont ever speak about Mo again.

He did get the loss, but he only had 1 ER and it was on an error at E1 and then Bell wouldnt have ever reached third. And the fly ball would have been an out. SO NO Mo didnt blow the save it was just a loss and it was on the feilders.

I will let our boys do the talking tonight.

There's a quiet irony...

when you call somebody stupid, and yet can’t construct a grammatically correct sentence yourself.

With that said, though I’m not rooting for the Yankees, I wouldn’t mind seeing a bit classier posts both here and over at the Good Phight from the opposing supporters.

Should be a fun game!

Bought?

I don’t want to hear any crying from jealous non Yankee fans about buying championships. If any owner could buy a championship they would do it in a second. If they could and decide not to, then they are dumb. If they don’t because they are pocketing the profits instead of re-investing in their team, then they are greedy and just want money and not glory. If they keep a team in an area where they can’t generate interest or money…then they are bad business people. No matter how you slice it…people’s choices in players are what counts. You can give 10 million to every half ass player in the league….they’re aren’t going to win unless it’s the right mix of players.

People win championships. Not money.

Pro sports are a business. You’re in it to win, or to sit there and lose and just count your dough.

Yes, the NY Yankees are in a hot market that has loved baseball for over 100 years….but at least ownership wants glory to go with the money!

I can only hope that the Yanks have extra cash to make the payroll 275 million if they need to! Winning is everything and if someone tells you different then they probably have never won anything!

GO YANKS!!! CLOSE IT OUT TONIGHT!!! Let the haters hate while we celebrate!!

by Ragnar808 on Nov 4, 2009 4:57 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

beautifuly said.

the owner of the royals, the Glass family i think, has more money then the stienbrenner family, i heard on the brian kenny show last week, hes normally hates on te yankees, but anyway if the glass family really has more money then george they should use some of that money to get a player that will draw fans and increase income so they could be on the track of winning, and there are many other teams like this.

but ur right sports is a business. and the yankees dont waste there mnoney they go out and get good players

That's right...

Hey, these owners with dough….they don’t HAVE to spend it. that’s fine. I just don’t want to hear from fans complaining because the Yanks spend when other teams CHOOSE not to spend.

That’s cool. Keep the money in the bank, buy a house, a yacht….a whatever!!

THOSE are the people fans should whine about!

I heard Victorino might be scratched from the line-up

Looks like the Phillies traded one victory in the WS for a position player, pretty much. The Yanks will jump on Pedro from the get-go, they’ll figure him out the same way they did with Lee on game 5, I think it would be difficult for Pedro to repeat the same performance on game 2.
No rally towels, no fireworks or lit up liberty bells, no ‘Yankee/CC/Jeter sucks’ chants and more importantly, no pitchers on the batting line up with brings Matsui, Pedros real dad.
