Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

That was tough, but Game 6 in the Bronx awaits

Tough loss to swallow.  Then again, what loss in the World Series isn't tough?

Game 6 back at home.  Likely Pettitte versus Martinez.  Today we saw that seeing a pitcher a second time is big for our lineup.  5 runs against Cliff Lee is huge.

People are going to point Burnett's horrible start to pitching on short rest.  I doubt that was it.  AJ is always imploding and throwing gems and imploding every other week.  I feel Andy will give us a solid start tommorow, he's always been consistent.  He may be old, but I don't think he'll suffer too much from getting one less day of rest.

Great fight in this team.  Can't say I am angry that we threw Coke out there, he seemed like the right choice with Marte pitching a lot, but it backfired.  Good news is that we saw good things out of Robertson, Aceves, and Hughes.

Honestly, I expected AJ to dazzle us and outduel Lee tonight.  Something similar to Andy vs Smoltz.  It didn't happen.  We'll be fine.

By the way, let's NOT pitch to Chase Utley anymore.

ehhh

Pitch to Utley. Just have to stay out in front of him, yeah he took AJ deep on a first pitch because AJ threw all those early strikes so they had a scouting report to hit that fastball early and often. Andy is a different animal tho, he wont overpower you, he will finesse you. We need to get on Pedro early with the bats, if this happens, Andy will pitch good enough to clinch. If not, get ready for game 7 with CC. Phills wont quit thats for sure, still think Yanks got them in 6 though, praying anyway.

I have no problem pitching to Utley.

if you look at all his hits…they’re fastballs right down the middle. THe one that wasn’t, was after they deicided they’re gonna throw 25 curves in a row to him..and even that was right down the middle.

He’s tough to jam, cuz he hovers over the plate and steps away to pull the ball, yet I see Andy figuring something out. Probably pound the outside of the plate. If Andy’s getting that outside K call, he’ll be dealing all night.

For game 6, the only one that concerns me is Werth. Even with him, I think you gotta pound the outside and be careful in. They seem to be all dead pull hitters actually.

Also kinda funny that the HR ball is largely absent for the Yanks. All I can say is they’re due for some long balls.

DO WHAT JERRY HAIRSTON DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
