Philadelphia Inquirer Declared Phillies Champs!!
Here is an ad that ran on the back page of the Philadelphia Inquirer today. Let's just hope it jinxed it! My guess is that they were just following Jimmy Rollins prediction, because after all his is a "prophet."
Shut Jimmy and the rest of the gang and step on their throats. It end's tonight. "Give them nothing, and take from them... Everything!"
If anybody can find the actual shirt (if it exists) grab one and wear it to the Canyon of Heros Saturday.

Im sure it exists
I actually bought my friend who is a Mets fan, a Mets 2000 subway series champion t shirt. It was the exact shirt the Yankees wore after winning, gray with the trophy on it, but it had Mets on it. I found it on EBAY.

Kinda like the Patriots 19-0 thing.
I wonder why the NY team doesn’t go and pull this crap (do the Mets really count anymore?)

They make attire like this every year,
especially before the superbowl. Most of it is donated to missions in third world countries.
However, I don’t think I’ve ever seen it advertised in the paper before.

Not something to get worked up over.
You’re right, they make these shirts, hats, etc., for both teams. I always believed that the losing team’s memorabilia was destroyed afterwards.
Calm down, This wasn’t intentional. Obviously someone at the paper F’d up.

Agreed, but
my favorite of all time is the news story about the 49ers sending their office and staff to Tampa to prepare for the 1991 Super Bowl before they played the championship game against the Giants. I bet Montana’s head is still ringing from the Leonard Marshall sack.

They love their 19-0 Pats in those third world countries.

Quick Question..
IF we clinch today.. when’s the Parade?… I’m wondering because I’m considering driving up to attend. I was always too young (12 in 2000) before mom dukes wouldn’t let me skip school for ir..

Yeah,
but to run an ad…..I don’t know. It just looks a little…..ARROGANT! Maybe I just have the wrong take on it.

Reminds me of the Red Sox applying the WS Logo at Fenway in 2003
Not a good move.

I could see how they made this ad ahead of time in case it happened
But I can not wrap my head around how it got by what should be several editors and into an actual edition of the newspaper.

It's an ad for Macy's
I live in Philadelphia so I saw the ad in the Inquirer today. Not that this makes it any better, but it’s actually an ad for Macy’s telling you to go and buy the World Series Champs merchandise. Don’t know why it was run, but someone messed up. I saved the ad and will hopefully be able to laugh about it even more when the Yankees wrap up the series.

To hard for them to understand. 90% of the city doesn't even speak english or understand it.

It was probably a test run right? They KNOW most of Philly doesn’t know what it says, so what’s the difference?

the sad thing about the 10% that does understand...
is its probably the non-English speaking portion of Philly (and the Yankee fans :).
