Wang
So before last night got underway and listening to the talk of CC going on three days, I got to thinking about how nice it would have been to have Wang in his regular 19 game winner fashion. Our starting pitching has been nothing short of great in this postseason and I have wondered what kind of difference it might had been IF we had had the Wang of years past. Let's close this deal out tonight! Go Yanks!

I dunno actually...
while I think CM Wang would be a superior #4 starter to basically anyone in the league when he was right (I always saw him as a strong #2 pitcher, tho as an ace he was good for the Yanks).
Tonight would obviously be a no brainer, CM Wang gets teh start. I also think he’d get game 4 in teh ALCS too.
Actually, I think the debate may have been who is the 4th guy. AJ wasn’t all that good going into the playoffs, and if CM Wang was CM Wang going in…he may have been the #2 (and AJ probably #4).
In the future, they gotta get this guy right cuz with CC and AJ around for a while, having Wang in that top 3 makes the Yanks a formidable team, regardless of who’s the 4th and 5th guys
and yea, a healthy CM Wang this season probably would have been at least as good as Andy this season, not to say Wang would be better in teh playoffs tho/
DO WHAT JERRY HAIRSTON DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
haha, I that you meant something other than baseball,
What else should I think when I read “Wang”. I was afraid to open to post, though I would see frontals. Thanks goodness you were talking about your pitcher.
Just playing.

The future
I just hope that Wang recovers fully and is able to continue his excellent major league career. He’s still pretty young, and it would be a shame if his injury ruined him for good. Sure, his legs may fully recover, but you never know how leg injuries ruin a pitcher. They sometimes throw everything off so bad that the pitcher never learns how to pitch again.
On the other hand, Wang is young, seems pretty intelligent, and based on some pretty excellent years, everybody knows what he’s capable of, and what he’s capable of is at a premium. So I would guess there will be no lack of money and effort to work with him to try to get him there.
if we had a healthy/effective Wang
(haha), we’re looking at 110+ wins, probably Wang starting last night in order to keep the other SPs on normal rest.
it’ll be interesting to see what happens with him. an excellent pitcher when healthy.
if we had a healthy Wang
I think this team may have been looking at breaking the all time wins leader (think it was Seattle in 2001). Think about it. People predicted 17-20 wins out of Chien Ming Wang this year. Instead, they got ONE win out of him. He was replaced by a combo of Hughes (who wasn’t good as a starter), Mitre (who sucks), Gaudin (who actually did ok, but isn’t any Chien Ming Wang), and a version of Chien Ming Wang that was just awful. If he had his normal “19 win season”, then the Yankees may be looking at 115+ wins. I really believe that.
Hopefully when he returns at the ASB next year he’ll be able to return to his old form. He’s still very young. His career isn’t over by any stretch. If he can get healthy and effective again, it would be like adding an extra ace for free to the Yankees staff. I like that idea.
imagine CC/AJ/CMW
as our top three..
with Joba/Hughes/IPK/Petite rounding it out plus a deep bullpen
wow
