Scioscia and Tracy are Managers of the Year
The Rox awarded the deserving Jim Tracy with a three-year extension. Scioscia was less deserving; Ron Gardenhire is amazing how he always gets his team, no matter how weak it is, into the playoffs.

I agree
that Gardenhire should be the Manager of the Year. I know that Scioscia (how does ANYONE spell that) dealt with a death, but Gardenhire had an average baseball team at best, and he got it into the playoffs! He deserved it to me.

I don't have a problem with Scioscia
but can someone explain to me how losing one pitcher to a tragic incident means you get a sympathy vote for the Manager of the Year?
I get it, Nick Adenhart was a rookie who had a lot of promise and potential and “was going to lead them to the post-season” and they got there anyway. However, when you consider that Scioscia has led the Angels to the playoffs six times in eight years, it isn’t all that special that they worked through their grief and injuries and got to the post-season. I’d understand more if they lost a CC caliber player, but Adenhard was a rookie. I have sympathy for his family and his teammates, but to me, this is stretching too far.
