Mekly Hammy?

Uh oh. Did I just see melky grab his hammy right as they went to commercial???

by Ragnar808 on Nov 1, 2009 10:25 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

that would suck

although there are worse players it can happen too. Gardy would fill in admirably I am sure. Plus Guzman could come on the roster to replace him and they’d still have a speedster.

by nyyrocks29 on Nov 1, 2009 10:27 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

yes....

maybe gardy getting into the game will be a good thing here….

now CC, get out your former teammate and call it a night for you (and possibly a season). If it’s your last inning of the season, then nice job. If not for Grienke you are the Cy Young winner in my mind.

is ANYONE seeing the strange stain on joe blanton's bill of the cap?

And WHY haven’t any of these broadcasters mentioned it? They’re not actually as bad as we say they are…are they?

by Paul O'Neill on Nov 1, 2009 10:32 PM EST via mobile reply actions   0 recs

No. Joba’s got the same stuff. I think the pitchers are doing something to distress their hats, maybe wearing the same cap through all their workouts?

This was a mini-controversy in last year's WS

Joe Maddon pointed it out, but Blanton said it was just dirt and Fox never followed up on the story. I did some digging of my own and discovered he ALWAYS has that smudge of dirt on his hat. I don’t know what it is, though.

He bats with a two run lead. Too bad Melky couldn’t reach. Then they get CC over in the 6th. Now they have to waste an out. They would like him to get through one more inning.

I remember visiting my parents in Rochester, NY last year

and we all went to a Red Wings game (thats the farm team for the Twins). And they were playing Scranton. And Bruney (who was on some sort of rehab) comes in the game, drills the first guy in the back, gets ejected and gets into a brawl, and leaves.

So he WILL drill someone if he wants to. So, why not? Although I wouldn’t put Utley on and bring Howard up as the tying run.

Joba or Hughes

Hughes has sucked lately, but he has been the guy all year. Does he still have the confidence in him, or has Joba moved ahead of him in the “pecking” order?

no way

unless it’s for our 4th win

by lololol on Nov 1, 2009 10:57 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

No

Joe said he’s not going more than one. Bullpen needs to do the job.

by nyyrocks29 on Nov 1, 2009 10:57 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Joe said no...

so I assume no.

Joba for 8th, maybe Marte?

I would consider it, esp. with a 1 run lead.

The Yanks DO NOT want to lose this one.

by Ooofa on Nov 1, 2009 10:58 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I thought Joe

said not to that idea today. I could be wrong.

Yoba in the 8th, any doubt?

by XLII on Nov 1, 2009 10:57 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I think so.

Marte probably is done.

Small sample size

but I think Marte and Hughes switched talents

end of inning

marte’s been great in the playoffs. He’s erasing that awful seasosn he had.

I'd love to go to Geico for the 8th

really ease the idea of the bottom of the 8th.

Screw you McCarver! “Bad read by Posada” my ass. He wasn’t going first to third when someone could have caught it.

by jscape2000 on Nov 1, 2009 11:06 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Exactly

But then, McCarver gets to criticize him no matter what he does or what the outcome of the play.

McCarver criticizes Jorge for not running

But if that ball was caught, he’d criticize him for running. Funny how that works out.

by waw on Nov 1, 2009 11:07 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Shut up McCarver...

Rivera’s fine.
