Andy Is Sloooooooow!
I just wanted to see who all else caught Jeet telling Tex "damn! Andy is sloooow" on the replay. I just thought that was hilarious, especially since that play was giving us the lead in a now 8-4 game. AP was pretty slow getting around third, but as long as he doesn't hurt himself like Wang, it's all good.
Also, way to go ARod and Nick Swisher. I'm looking forward to the possibility of seeing Carl Crawford in pinstripes next season, but I hope it's not at the expense of losing Nick Swisher. His presence in the locker room has been invaluable this season in my opinion.
Let's go Yanks! Let CC and the guys blast Blanton tomorrow night and take the 3-1 lead!

Very glad to see Phil Hughes getting some work without as much pressure on him. If he can get through the ninth unscathed, hopefully his confidence will get a boost and he can find that zone again.
I told you we would beat Georgia!! Now, as for those 9 wins in '09......

I think Andy knew he'd make it around in time.
Just being cautious running the bases, I guess.

Yeah
We don’t want anymore Chien-Mien Wang stuff happenin’.
Andy running with the jacket on was totally badass, I have to admit. He was just like “whatever”, but totally focused. :P

Haaaaa
But in reference to the Crawford comment, have u or anyone heard anything leaning either way? U definitely won’t from the Yankees until after the smoke clears.
3 more wins to go......Dethroning a paper champion is all I care about. Yea,I said it. You're Welcome.

Unless they decide to let both Damon go and Matsui...
I doubt it.
Even then, AJAX may get the chance.
I doubt the Rays let him go anyway with the option they have on him. If anything, the 2011 season would be the season Crawford to the Yanks is relevant.

Ahh
I was thinking his contract was up this season. I don’t get YES where I live, but I remember hearing that mentioned each time a Yankees-Rays game was on TV. But, we all know how the FOX guys are, so I guess I shouldn’t depend on guys like that for info.
As far as Damon/Matsui.
I just don’t see the Yankees resigning Matsui. He’ll probably end up in Seattle with Ichiro would be my guess.
Damon on the other hand I think they’ll keep and kind of platoon him and Swisher with maybe AJax in left and right while Gardy and Melky keep the center.
In any case, we still got two games to win before we can speculate I suppose. ;-)

I dunno about Seattle...
Ichiro and Matsui get along as good as Jeff Kent and Barry Bonds apparently….
I wouldn’t count on that.
Matsui has proven time and again..like you know…Game 3 of the WS…that he’s a valuable bat no matter where he is. Be it PH, DH, whatever.
If the price is right, he’s still a Yank next year and go from there.
I just don’t see how the Yanks can get rid of a proven bat like that, especially a proven bat that can handle NY.
Both Damon and Mats staying/going depends on the cost. I know its the Yankees, but the proabably have a budget too (tho its higher than anyone else…) and if either of these 2 wants a long term deal, goodbye to them.

Yeah
Definitely not meaning to imply that Matsui is washed up, but if we can bring along AJax, and still have room for Swish and Damon, I guess Matsui would be the odd man out.
I didn’t know that about Ichiro though. Again this is what I get for not having access to YES, or not following this blog till now.

I mean I'm not 100% on the Matsui-Ichiro thing...
I’m sure if the Mariners made a big offer, Mats is gone. I’m pretty sure I heard that from when the 2 teams played, that Ichiro and Mats didn’t really like each other
Yet Matsui has nothing to do with AJAX, Swish and Damon. Matsui is a DH, like Jim THome for ex.
I think they NEED to keep either Damon or Matsui. One is needed, you can’t get rid of one of these bats.
If Damon prices himself out of NY, then AJAX should be in LF

I just meant
That if Matsui leaves, we would be able to rotate the DH spot among the outfielders and actually have one play the field as well. So we could platoon a combo of Jackson, Swish and Damon at left, right, and DH with Gardner off the bench for speed and defense.
Also, is AJax a switch hitter or just righty?
I’ve always been a fan of Matsui’s though, not trying to run him out of town by any means. Especially if he returns to hitting .500 against the Red Sox everytime we play ’em.

There was one game this season where andy hit a double
and when he got to second he had to go down on one knee he was so tired.

Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Hilarious
I know he’s an athletic guy though. Pitchers hitting and running are usually good for a laugh. Especailly when you win.

I still say both Damon and Matsui deserve at least a one year contract for all the good they've done this year.
Yankees all day.

I agree
I know our team is sorta gettin’ old, but just based on what we’ve done this year, everyone deserves at least another year. I’m just sayin’.
I think if Mat can’t come back as a Yankee, he’s retiring (at least in the States). I don’t see him going to any other team.
