If A Rod doesnt show...

What will happen to the Yankees down the line? I mean, I dont think we could have gotten to this point into the postseason with out his clutch performance in the past series. say all you want about the guy, but he is probably the most important componet to our success in this series. 0-8 with 6 strikeouts in 2 games, i think any fan would start to get nervous. I think its safe to say that the Yankees are definatly the most diverse team in the league, but the Phillies to me are #2. The yankees have a deep lineup but so do the Phillies. Game 2 was important, but walking into their stadium aint going to be a walk in the park. Now they do have that shallow fence in right- center field, so i think we will see some big flys. but if A Rod cant play like he did against the angels or twins, then a teammate on the team such as Jeter or Texeria better come to play or this one might be a locked up game 7

My personal opinion:

Given ARod’s prowess before this series, I’d have to say he makes an impact anyway. They fear him because on any swing he can add a run for the Yanks. He doubt he will hit like he did earlier in the postseason simply because those numbers are so hard to equal, but I bet he gets some big hits at some point this series.

If A-Rod doesn't show....

the other 7 guys are gonna have to do something (Jeter…does something anyway…).

Like years past, this team is relying on A-ROd. He doesn’t do anything, the offense is off (Game 2 aside).

I’d rather A-Rod not do anything (he’s done enough hasn’t he? More would be good, but he’s done his part as far as I’m concerned) and the rest of the lineup have a clue.

As always, this is not on one hitter.

He's done more than enough

And if anybody thinks otherwise even if he goes hitless and the Yankees lose, they need to reevaluate their baseball knowledge.

Of course it would be fantastic if he gets another big hit or two or home run or two, but just because he’s in the lineup, Tex and Matsui/Posada are reaping the benefits in fatter pitches…..

I told you we would beat Georgia!! Now, as for those 9 wins in '09......

He'll get it going again

He should be the least of the Yankees worries in this series. He had a couple bad games. and one of those bad games was when a pitcher who absolutely shut down the Yankee lineup was pitching. He’ll be fine. I expect a good game tonight against Hamels.

However, am I going to get on him if he doesn’t show up? No. No Yankees fan should. He’s done more than enough this postseason, and without the playoffs he has had, the Yankees wouldn’t be in this spot right now. It would take a “Bill Buckner” type moment for him for me to get on him.
