Come Together

In honor of the off day, I want to extend an olive branch to our friends at The Good Phight, and thought we could share in a little fun.

Go here, and create a poster related to the Mets.

The writer with the funniest poster gets something.  Maybe a front page article.  Or bragging rights.

Enjoy the off day and have some fun.

I may not like the Mets but lets not get crazy and side with the Phillies over another NY Team. We owe them an eternal debt of gratitude for 1986 and breaking the hearts of Boston fans.

I'm halfway on board with this

but it’s just too funny to pass up.

This sticker is dangerous and inconvenient, but I do love Fig Newtons.

I hope the only reason you didn’t name the Redskins is because they suck this year.

by Clyde Simmons on Oct 30, 2009 9:04 AM EDT up reply actions

I left out more than a few rival teams...

cuz they ’aren’t playing’ right now.

The Mets have been ‘playing’ not-baseball all season, so that’s why they’re included.

Old Bleacher Chant

Mets suck! Red Sox suck! You suck! Everybody sucks!

I figured this was acceptable too

I hate all things Boston even more than the Giants and Mets

True fact: New England Patriots has more blackouts then the AZ Cardinals in the 90’s

THIS

gets my vote.

Well I don’t like the Sox either, but they are not as easy to make fun of!

I think intermixing of sports is ok.

please explain what is happening here…I think I missed this story.

by Clyde Simmons on Oct 30, 2009 9:45 AM EDT up reply actions

How could you have missed this???

2000 World Series (The Subway Series), Game 2, Mike Piazza breaks his bat on a foul ball off Rodger Clemens, and the broken bat shard flies right to Clemens. He proceeds to pick up the shard and throw it back at Piazza. Very testy times….

Blind devotion.

I was in highschool then…don’t think I stayed up to watch a series my team wasn’t in.

The scariest part

was the Mets coming within one run of tieing the game. I was in the left field seats for this one and you could cut the tension with a knife after the three run home run off of Mo. My favorite overheard comment after the game when we where exiting was "now THEY (Mets) have the momentum. "

hilarious!

I told you we would beat Georgia!! Now, as for those 9 wins in '09......
I got bored and made a blog!! SCS

I wasn't aware

that there was still a second baseball team in NY. I thought they left town with Willie Randolph.

Seriously, beating on the Mets? Isn’t that like picking on the littlest kid in class? Even a Mets troll who stumbled upon this post would be unable to defend themselves. Maybe for the entertainment value on this off-day, somebody out to head over to Amazin’ Avenue and point them here.

I always feel pressure. What I don't have is fear. -- El Duque

this might be fun...

I had a large collection of LOLMets macros that were lost when my old laptop died. Maybe I can recreate some.

My first attempt

Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.
