the ump blew the call at 1st on the DP, too
What a frigging post-season. Maybe the umps don’t like the cold weather and days off.

Travis
a warning would be nice. Just saying. It may take a while for everyone to get over here.
Thats gotta hurt. Come on A-Rod break out of your mini-slump.
so they
didnt start the runners
could have should have would have
baseball is a game of ifs
either getting his throwing in
or in case the Yankees put it out of reach. Any other reason is too terrible to contemplate.

i hope he's just getting his throws in
but that snippet of him throwing scared the shit out of me
Thank God for making us Yankees.
aceves?
no
rivera pitches unless the yankees are winning by like 10
If Ace pitches the 9th, we’re going to be up by 7, so I’ll forgive it.
"Have faith in the Yankees, my son. Think of the great DiMaggio."
i dont think it was a strike...but it was not too far off the plat a.k.a. right where he usually likes it..
hes playing like a dear in headlights..

baseball is so weird
how people break out of and get into slumps. A-Rods in a little mini-slump. Still only 2 games. I think he’ll break out and have a big game against Hamels on Halloween.
why don't they show the pitch after the strike out.........?

Maybe the 1st base ump just loves to call people out. Sort of like an ump with a wide strike zone…
"Have faith in the Yankees, my son. Think of the great DiMaggio."
That was not close to the plate
but come on Arod take the off day and get your swing back…off course the announcers forget their golden boy howard has 7k’s too
that's a nice frame by Ruiz
that pitch looked both up and outside.

yea
A-Rod carries the Yankees to the WS, he has a couple bad games and Buck’s really bashing him isn’t he!?
I usually don’t mind Buck all that much, but he really seems to be in love with the Phillies.
ugh. robbie, you’re first hit of the series would be greatly appreciated right about now

think opposite way just slap one to left center
the 42 of Rivera
is going to look weird next to the 42 of Jackie.
kind of like the two 8s.

is it me - or is Alex leaning in at his last at bat?
He pops up and tends to expand his zone. Doesn’t drive the ball….needs to get back to his Twins stance :)
if there's something wrong with his swing
that we can spot, then im sure Kevin Long will spot it. A-Rod’s a great player. I expect him to be fine in Phili.
i hope the umpires have a run in with the Sandman when they sleep tonight
Thank God for making us Yankees.
And no mention of his ineffectiveness or slump in the World Series… just that the pitch looked wide.
"Have faith in the Yankees, my son. Think of the great DiMaggio."
exactly
Howard has done no better than A-Rod. However, A-Rod gets bashed now every time he steps up to the plate, and Howard is just getting bad breaks.
FOX needs new announcers. I may just put this on mute and turn on the radio.
bring me to the plate boys!!
so i can strike out…

um
river thre 39 pitches
can he throw on saturday?
Yankee starters have allowed 3 runs in 14 innings of work. Keep that up and I like our chances.
"Have faith in the Yankees, my son. Think of the great DiMaggio."
And now to Hamels....
with an exceptional era of….6

Mo cannot throw 2 innings Saturday. Not a chance. Joe better figure out how to use the bullpen. Hope Andy can go 7.
Would help if we dropped 8 runs on Hamels
by PortlandYankee on Oct 29, 2009 11:27 PM EDT up reply actions
i wish we could have done that to Pedro.
still, we beat him, and he got booed off the mound. He seemed to enjoy it though.
I’m so happy for AJ. he really deserved this win. he was spectacular today
Thank God for making us Yankees.
Girardi said he may start a game in the outfield
which I don’t want, but Joe did say it was a possibility. He definitely won’t be starting Game 3 though against the lefty Hamels.
Hopefully this day off was good for Swisher. Maybe him (and A-Rod) can get it going in Phili against Hamels.
That would be a disaster
He hasn’t played in the field all year, yes?
We may as well put Ruth’s statue out there.
