by swinging at those low pitches.. changeups..
If Fox thought it would increase their ratings, they’d start to organize an Arod protest tonight.

Hughes has fallen off because he’s not getting regular work. this was a guy that pitched regularly during the regular season, now Girardi + the drawn-out playoff schedule means he’s pitching every 5th day.

how about a run or two for insurance? Mo is great but not immune. The Angels managed to get one against him in Game 6. A run or two of insurance would be good.

AJ is smokin...
Let’s get enough runs, at least 4, so we can bring in Hughes and not worry, hes been so good, i hate to see him like this
every game is a must-win
it’s the freakin’ World Series. but you can’t use Mo for two-inning saves for every game.
i’d rather stick with AJ for at least one more batter then re-evaluate from there. giving up on Hughes just because he’s struggling is silly to me. the kid needs regular work.
the reason he’s shaky is because he’s pitching fractions of an inning once every three games.
by SBakerTheTouchdownMaker on Oct 29, 2009 10:22 PM EDT reply actions
You can't in Philly, 3 games in a row
But tomorrow is an off-day
Go with Mo
by PortlandYankee on Oct 29, 2009 10:23 PM EDT up reply actions
And you don't know that you'll need him for those games
by PortlandYankee on Oct 29, 2009 10:23 PM EDT up reply actions
my point is
you can’t rely on the starters to go 7 innings and then right to Mo every single time. it doesn’t work that way.
sooner or later in this series, somebody else in the pen is going to have to step up.
by SBakerTheTouchdownMaker on Oct 29, 2009 10:25 PM EDT up reply actions
The hell you can't
Even if we didn’t have tomorrow off, I don’t care how old he is. He is an athlete and 2 innings isn’t going to kill him. Pedro is only two years younger and is pitching 7
and Pedro has been a starter since 1993
and Mo has been a closer since 1997. apples and oranges.

Next season, Girardi will just signal to the home plate ump that he wants the call reviewed, and in the 30 seconds it took TIM MCCARVER to get it right, the correct call will be made.
"Have faith in the Yankees, my son. Think of the great DiMaggio."

the good news is that the Phillies' bullpen
is atrocious. more runs may be on the way.

only opponent is that it takes too much time and it ruins teh human element
ump fail

No offense
but a lot of you didn’t complain during the ALDS and ALCS
You’ll still win this game, but to be frank, I get the feeling Instant Replay will be added if NY gets hosed and loses…
by Lee Stevens' Potential on Oct 29, 2009 10:48 PM EDT reply actions
I complained. I hate making excuses, and I hate hearing other people make excuses. I want to win and I want to know we won the game fairly.
"Have faith in the Yankees, my son. Think of the great DiMaggio."
instant replay will be added
because every single AL team (Twins, Angels, Red Sox, Yankees) have gotten hosed this postseason. that’s the bottom line.
and people were complaining early on. the Cuzzi call was a complete joke.

Was that the double play not a double play with Posada and Cano at third and no one on the bag?
"Have faith in the Yankees, my son. Think of the great DiMaggio."
no didn't complain....
but we agreed with the call……
by Gangsta Yanksta on Oct 29, 2009 10:49 PM EDT up reply actions
we weren't exactly "complaining"
But everyone here acknowledged that the umps blew the call in Game 2 with Mauer, and blew the double-play call in Game 4 against the Angels (when Cano & Posada were off the bag).

at least it proves to Halos Heaven
that there isn’t some international conspiracy to rig the World Series for the Yankees anymore.
i hope RevHaloFan is watching.

why dont they fucking check the fucking ball for the dirt? fucking dirtbags
Thank God for making us Yankees.
posada
was pleading they do that
to no avail
And now
Buck and McCarver say it “wasn’t obvious”. I guess thats true but it doesn’t matter. As an umpire in the World Series, you HAVE TO GET THOSE CALLS RIGHT!!!!!!! There’s going to be some difficult calls. Get them right!!! Thats why they’re umping in the WS!
THATS WHY I SAY THE HUMAN ELEMANT ARGUMENT IS BS...
THAT WAS 1950’S BASEBALLL….this is 2009..get with the technological elemant…

Look at the ESPN comment board
about 50% of the people there think that it was a bad call

I dont know if i Hate him or Aikman calling games more.
Probably Aikman to be honest.
GO NY GIANTS!!
he actually has a point
there is no reason why they shouldn’t have been running. 2 speedy guys. Mo isn’t particularly fast to the plate. And Posada isn’t good at throwing guys out.
I’ll take it though. 3 outs away!!!!!
This one got us here. I’m not screwing with the good vibes.

McCarver’s desire to see the Yankees lose is palpable.
Let’s have a long, productive inning so Mo has plenty of time to catch his breath.

seriously. did you hear him “Ugh why wouldnt you send the runners?”
Thank God for making us Yankees.
if they get enough runs
They should take Mo out.

Rev halo
would call the bad umpiring karma. I call it ruining a great postseason regardless who gets hosed.
He also thinks we should trade GM jr for Milton Bradley and likes that obnoxious cover of “all you need is love” more than the Beatles’ original. ( Seriously-check HH)
Hence, why I spend time here.
