Your RF short porch is a joke, no matter who hits the ball. Oh well. At least you don’t have a bloody hill in your outfield.

I’m a Mariners fan all right. And I don’t begrudge Godzilla his HR there. Hardly. Just think the ultrashort RF is kind of silly, that’s all. And yes, Fenway Park is just as bad in that respect…but it’s a dump, period.

that's ridiculous if it's true
Hughes has fallen off because he’s not getting regular work. this was a guy that pitched regularly during the regular season, now Girardi + the drawn-out playoff schedule means he’s pitching every 5th day.

debatable…
Lets go to Geico and get some ins.

how about a run or two for insurance? Mo is great but not immune. The Angels managed to get one against him in Game 6. A run or two of insurance would be good.

every game is a must-win
it’s the freakin’ World Series. but you can’t use Mo for two-inning saves for every game.
i’d rather stick with AJ for at least one more batter then re-evaluate from there. giving up on Hughes just because he’s struggling is silly to me. the kid needs regular work.
the reason he’s shaky is because he’s pitching fractions of an inning once every three games.
by SBakerTheTouchdownMaker on Oct 29, 2009 10:22 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
You can't in Philly, 3 games in a row
But tomorrow is an off-day
Go with Mo

And you don't know that you'll need him for those games
by PortlandYankee on Oct 29, 2009 10:23 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
my point is
you can’t rely on the starters to go 7 innings and then right to Mo every single time. it doesn’t work that way.
sooner or later in this series, somebody else in the pen is going to have to step up.
by SBakerTheTouchdownMaker on Oct 29, 2009 10:25 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
The hell you can't
Even if we didn’t have tomorrow off, I don’t care how old he is. He is an athlete and 2 innings isn’t going to kill him. Pedro is only two years younger and is pitching 7

Next season, Girardi will just signal to the home plate ump that he wants the call reviewed, and in the 30 seconds it took TIM MCCARVER to get it right, the correct call will be made.

I was against instant replay for the longest time, but there are too many key plays that have been flat out blown.
by long time listener on Oct 29, 2009 10:45 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
You really think they'll implement replay?
I am skeptical. They don’t make decisions based on what will improve the game, but based on what will improve the payout.

Yeah, it can be done simply, just like for homers this season.

It should be bases loaded, no out for Tex. Maybe they push home a few more runs so that we don’t need to use Mo for two innings. Absolutely criminal.

but a lot of you didn’t complain during the ALDS and ALCS

instant replay will be added
because every single AL team (Twins, Angels, Red Sox, Yankees) have gotten hosed this postseason. that’s the bottom line.

by Gangsta Yanksta on Oct 29, 2009 10:49 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
we weren't exactly "complaining"
But everyone here acknowledged that the umps blew the call in Game 2 with Mauer, and blew the double-play call in Game 4 against the Angels (when Cano & Posada were off the bag).

Bad umpiring is bullshit whether it's in our favor or not
If it’s not in our favor then it contributes to our loss. If it’s in our favor then it makes our win less legitimate.
