Gaudin looks to be fourth starter
Chad Gaudin has been 'stretching out' his arm to 70-80 pitches. It looks like he'll start game four in order to keep the other three starters on normal rest.

I’d rather have CC, Andy, AJ, CC, Gaudin, Andy, CC. Though maybe there’s a certain logic to matching up Gaudin against Blanton (presumably) and trying to win the slugfest with our bullpen (knock on wood).

That would mean Andy on only 3 days rest in game 2? I don’t think I like that idea. The thing that sucked with going to game 6 with the Angels is that we likely will have Andy for only 1 start. Any other way will mean he’ll have to pitch on 3 days rest (with CC surely getting games 1, 4, & 7). I don’t think he can handle that.

I can't count
It didn’t occur to me that Andy would be going on 3 days rest in Game 2. I guess it should be CC, AJ, Andy, CC, Gaudin, AJ, CC. That does leave Andy in the bullpen in Games 6 and 7 (and possibly 5), which might come in handy against their lefties.

it’s times like these that i wish moose didn’t retire.
Thank God for making us Yankees.

Or if Wang's shoulder wasn't goop.
Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

how good would the rotation be if Moose was still playing and Wang was healthy?

We may not have gotten CC
if Moose had stayed on the roster. We certainly wouldn’t have gone for AJ.

I always wish Moose didn't retire
Gaudin? Hasn’t started in a month? I REALLY hope our offense shows up in that game.

I always wish it too
I miss Moose so much.
Well the team has won all 6 games he started during the regular season if that means anything…
Thank God for making us Yankees.

I think it will come down to what the series is at
3-0 Gaudin
2-1 Gaudin
1-2 CC
0-3 CC
Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

2-1, you throw CC,
If it than becomes 3-1, throw Gaudin and give AJ and Andy Necessary Rest,

no on Moose....
he was good last year, no telling what he’d be this year.
A healthy CMWang? Who cares where he’d pitch, be it the 2,3,4th starter…that’s a hell of a top four if he’s normal.

...."That's not a prediction meatman, that's a FACT OF LIFE"!.

Relax guys.
Who knows what Girardi is doing with the starters? Let’s just sit back, enjoy the fact that the World Series starts tomorrow, and for once have a little faith in our manager. Imagine how much easier his job would be if it weren’t for his own fans turning on everytime something goes wrong.

this is such a weird post-season
First too many off days, now not enough.

That doesn't make much sense
I actually have no problem with Gaudin starting — they are undefeated behind him after all, but it should be: CC, AJ, Andy, CC, Gaudin, AJ, Andy, CC

CC will be a monster in the 8th game!

Sorry, drinks and all.... I meant AJ or Andy
by sangreal on Oct 27, 2009 9:15 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Basically I think CC should start 1, 4, 7 and Gaudin should start 5. Whoever starts Game 2 should start game 6 -- either AJ or Andy
Hopefully that is more clear.

that would mean
CC starts two games on short rest. i’m not sure how he would do on that.

It has to be AJ, or Andy starts G2 on short rest
What a crappy schedule…I’d really like to see Andy in a clinching G6 at home.

Hopefully
we close out in 4 and this is all a moot point.

It woudl make me feel better, but it wouldn't be a very good series
Would be nice to see it go 6, then get the Yanks to clinch in the Bronx.

Pardon my french
but I could give a shit about a good series. I want to win the World Series as soon as possible. And seeing as though Jimmy Rollins is so confident they’ll win I’d like every game to be a blowout. I’d like to crush them.

Too bad Joba became useless late in the year. Would of been nice to have him in the pen all year with Phil as a starter. By useless I mean not being able to go as a starter now.I can’t believe the roster is the highest paid in baseball and Gaudin would be a starter in the World Series. Let the bashing on me begin.
