Game 2 Pitching Matchup......(Blank vs Pedro Martinez)

http://assets.nydailynews.com/img/2009/08/27/alg_yankees_andy_pettitte.jpg

I'd go with the guy in the picture. What do you guys think? He's been the more reliable guy this postseason thus far. Now you'll say:  If it ain't broke don't fix it. Yea, yea, not so fast. What if A.J decides to break this round? Joe doesn't care for throwing back to back leftys, but would you mind it?

If A.J does face Pedro in Game 2, expect a 9-8, 10-8, 7-6 or 55-41 final score perhaps. But Andy was fantastic on Sunday, and if you've been watching him all these years, when he's on.....its time to ride the wave. How about it sports fans? Andy Game 2? Or stick with A.J?

The 2009 Postseason Tale of the Tape

Andy: 3 starts; 19.0 IP,17 hits;5R;5ER,7BB 15K,2-0

A.J: 3 starts; 18.1IP,14 hits;9R,9ER,10BB,13K,0-0

Additional notes:   A.J is better at home, but Andy fared a tad better when we played the Phillies in May,although he didn't factor into the decision ........... A.J vs Philly...not so much. But it was 1 start apiece.

A.J.

andy pitched Sunday. Don’t use him on 3 days rest when you don’t need to.

Either way, I want them to KICK THE CRAP out of Pedro and I want to hear the “WHOS YOUR DADDY” chants get REALLY loud!!!!

AJ for game 2.

Andy doesn’t seem to care where he pitches.

I think AJ ’s gonna need the crowd behind him.

I really hope AJ just goes out there and becomes that Toronto Blue Jays AJ or the mid-May AJ for game 2 as well.

+2 Def AJ

This sticker is dangerous and inconvenient, but I do love Fig Newtons.

Save Pettite for a matchup VS a better pitcher.

Pedro is more “hit or miss” than AJ is. He is liable to get lit up bad…

I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...

Yankees lit up Pedro..

when he was 95mph, Cy Young, RH Koufax Pedro.

I still can’t believe how bad he baffled the Dodgers hitters. I bet Jeter’s doing hand stands on Minka Kelly thinking about facing Pedro again…..

Mixed Emotions

In general, I’d rather have Pettitte on the mound than AJ in a playoff or WS game. Also ….. Philly is primarily a left-handed lineup so …… there could be some big advantages in starting off the series with two lefties at home. All that said, there is the issue of pitching Andy on 3 days rest and also having to send AJ out to the wolves on the road in Game 3 I think argues to keep the rotation intact.

I’m a huge Pettitte fan and have great faith in him to step up big in tough situations. But …. I think the reasons for having CC and AJ start the first two games outweigh other considerations. Perhaps the bigger issue is whether they will bring in Gaudin or anyone else to start Game 4. I would be against that.

Not Howard

Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

If everyone is on full rest,

then by all means debate on.

BUT, Pettitte would go on three days rest if he were to pitch game 2.

A.J. goes for game 2, like it or not.
