Kikuchi stays home, Chapman asking for too much
The 18-year-old Japanese flame-thrower, Yusei Kikuchi, has decided to play pro ball in Japan (at least for now). He'll enter the draft and likely be the top overall pick.
- Cuban lefty Aroldis Chapman is apparently asking for 'up to $60 million.' The Mets quickly declined to sign him. That is crazy money, and I don't think he'll ever get near that. (via MLBTR)

Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

The yanks...
have also contacted and reportedly came to an agreement with two mexican switch pitchers for whom the Mexican League has implemented a new rule (it applies to everyone): once a pitchers begins to pitch with one hand against a batter, he can’t change from left to right and viceversa during that at bat, unless the batter it’s a switch hitter and decides to change the side of the plate he is batting in that at bat.
Altough i don’t know the name of either pitcher :(.
Cheers

Unless they’re sure that Chapman is gonna be the next “Whitey Ford”…
… forget it.
The Yankees don’t need their own Dice K… you know, an over-priced, overrated import.
They already took a big enough bath on Kei Igawa…
I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...

Igawa…Has anyone read Joe Torre’s book? It’s fascinating what he and Verducci have to say about Igawa. Something along the lines of him having “at best,” a “double-A fastball.”
Who scouts these guys?
Chapman needs work. He’s a flamethrower, not a flame-pitcher.

Igawa was recommended by the same scout who signed El Duque.

I liked El Duque
Stands on his head during warm-up stretching. Smokes a cig in between innings.

I dunno...
initially I think stay away…but since the Mets seem so adamant to stay away…maybe its not such a bad idea to sign him?
