So far, it is a series memorable for all the wrong reasons: Terrible weather in New York, too many days off between too many games, late starting times (thanks to Fox), awful base running, worse defensive plays, heavily second-guessed decisions by both managers, and - the cherry on top - abysmal umpiring.
Rick Carpiniello is exactly right.
Maybe the bad decisions and blown calls haven't changed the outcome of any of the games, but their specter overshadows the series.

it's all about the money
bad weather from not building a retractable roof bc it would cost a lot of money.
days off because there are ‘dead nights’ for TV ratings ensures better TV nights and more money.
bad umpiring bc MLB doesn’t have ‘video review’ bc they think it would make games too long (which it won’t), and therefore detract viewers, and viewers = money.
the other stuff is at least within the sphere of the actual game.

If the Angels lose...
the focus will be on the defensive/running miscues.
If the Yankees use…the focus will be squarely on Girardi’s pitching decisions.

If the Yankees lose
Who knows what the focus will be on? If the Angles win 3 in a row there is a good chance something notable will happen we don’t now know about!
If I's known I was going to live so long, I'd have taken better care of myself. Casey
