We will have to wait until Sunday
Tonight's game has been postponed.
Rain postponed Saturday's Game 6 of the American League Championship Series, and the Angels and Yankees hope for better conditions on Sunday in New York. Game 6 will be played at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday and aired on FOX. If Game 7 is necessary, it will be played on Monday at 7:57 p.m.
The Yankees -- leading the series, 3-2 --will stick with starter Andy Pettitte, who is 1-0 with a 2.84 ERA so far this postseason, and the Angels will stay with lefty Joe Saunders, who has a 2.57 ERA in the ALCS. New York manager Joe Girardi said that postponing the game was a good decision.
"The one thing is you don't want to stop and start," Girardi said. "I don't think any of us are exactly sure when the rain is going to get out of here or how late it's going to be, so I respect the decision they made.
"I'm sure both clubs would've loved to have played. The weather is not permitting."

terrible idea
pitch him and we guarantee we only get him twice in the WS. Pitch Andy and we can clinch without CC and use him 3 times in the WS, and if we don’t clinch with Andy we put CC on the mound anyway in game 7 and still only use him twice in the WS if we go.

Yeah, Andy and offense. Close it out tomorrow (but I won’t be able to watch it all because we have a performance in Brooklyn at 7:30!)

damn...now it coincides with the giants game.
Of course I will watch this, Game 6 of ALCS >> Week 7 football. Still, would’ve been nice to see both fully.

Giants are going to lose anyway, watch a winner, watch the Yanks

Not Talking About The Jets, But They Were Alot Better Against the Saints
The Giants Secondary Is A Mess, and the Cards have better WRs than the Saints. If they dont get to Warner, this will not be pretty. I know my Jets are going nowhere, tell me something I dont know.

Damn you rain!!!
Believe it or not…it’s not to brag…I was just offered two tickets from a friend (has to fly out of town for work emergency) to the Giants game tomorrow. So I would go to Atlantic City early tomorrow and drive back with him to Giants Stadium. But NOOO….Game 6 is now tomorrow and I don’t want to miss it. So that means no AC and no Giants game. Yes…I’m bitching.

Ed what are you doing tomorrow night?
This was the worst case scenerio for die hard Yanks & Giant fans. Both games start around the same time.

Lackey vs. CC
by figgifig on Oct 24, 2009 9:09 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I would take CC over Lackey
especially with Lackey on short rest.
by GMan83201 on Oct 24, 2009 9:12 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
of course take CC over Lackey
but Lackey/Weaver vs. CC is better than just Weaver vs. CC
by figgifig on Oct 24, 2009 9:15 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
CC is better even without Lackey's short rest
no argument here

Damn, I thought having to wait about 45 hours for this game was bad.
But I end up having to wait another 24 hours and 20 minutes. I mean, come on!!

Game 6
With all the money spent on building the new Yankee stadium, why didn’t they make it a dome so this wouldn’t happen? Ruins the entire sports weekend schedule.

Careful… only sissies think that a retractable roof on Yankee Stadium isn’t sacrilege.

why?
good question. i’ve been asking that all year. but be careful, ‘traditionalists’ (some from California no less) will tell you you’re a ‘pansy’ or worse if you don’t like sitting in cold, freezing rain. meanwhile, baseball is supposed to be played in warm weather.
we’ll hopefully see a retractable roof added in the coming years. i mean, the ‘history’ was left in the previous building, so why not make the new one good and modern?

There Will Never Be A Retractable Roof On Yankee Stadium
World Peace Has A Better Chance Of Happening. Sorry but its not just about history, baseball is suppose to be played outside. I might be in the minority but I miss the days of double headers. Stadiums with roofs mean no rainouts, which means no doubleheaders. Some of the posts are hurting my head.

what?
there are no DHs anymore even without roofs! rainouts dont cause DHs. look at the current situation. they just postpone the next game also to make more $.
and no, baseball is not supposed to be played outside, but in warm weather, regardless of whether there’s a roof or not. that’s why they play in summer and not winter. (and for the Nth time, a retractable roof is only closed during bad weather anyway, when the game wouldn’t even be played without a roof!)

You Can Cry All You Want, Yankee Stadium Will NEVER Have A Roof
I can only imagine what other great ideas you have.
