Why tonight's game is so important

If the Yankees win tonight, it will allow CC Sabathia to pitch game one of the World Series, game four (on short rest), and game seven (on normal rest). If the Yankees lose, CC will pitch tomorrow, and would only be able to pitch twice in the Series. In addition, they would need a fourth starter (probably Chad Gaudin).

The situation may also be FUBAR if tonight's game is rained out, where Sabathia (unless Joe changes it up) wouldn't pitch until Monday (and the World Series starts Wednesday).

do we really need to ask

why this game is important??? i mean we win here we face the phillies in a knockout drag out. that and to stop this 2009 / 2004 analogy BS!!!!

well obviously

it’s more than just a trip to the WS on the line. it’s a trip to the WS with a good chance to win vs. a not as good chance.

I dont think it is as big a deal as its made out to be

Sure you want CC for three games but if he doesnt line up in game one, I think the Yankees still have a great chance. They will face Cliff Lee in game 1, but it is in their building so they still have a great chance. And then CC will be lined up against a lesser pitcher, whether it be Hamels or Pedro, so advatage Yankees. Sorry, I am not a big believer of Hamels. Either way, let’s get there.

Very unlike the Yankees to call the game so early

unless it was MLB’s decision. They usually like to milk the fans at the concession/merchandising stands for as long as possible any time there’s a big game.

Ughhh

I had plans to be in Atlantic City all day and night tomorrow.

by Scooby Snacks on Oct 24, 2009 6:28 PM EDT reply actions

Well this sucks

now the Yankees and Giants play at the same time and I have to keep flipping channels!

And also, I have tickets to a possible Game 7, and if it’s on Monday it could be a lot harder to go, especially if it’s at 5. DAMN IT!!!!!!!

Oh well. At least now I’m sure that when I go to work on Monday, I’ll be in good spirits because the Yankees will surely still be alive.

Need to close it out now…

I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...
