AJ's Conspiracy
I think AJ did a great thing last night. Really. Because of his inexcusable pitching in the 7th, the Yankees now get to fill the Stadium for another two games (it is going seven) and the team makes another $5mm in profit from these two games.
Add this to the departing players and the Yankees have a nice war chest to spend: Matsui ($13mm) + Damon ($13mm) + Nady ($7mm) + AJ's contribution ($5mm) = $38mm. Yum! Yum! I'll take a Holliday ($15mm) but who else? Hmmm...
Thanks AJ.

Pettitte is a better pitcher than Joe Saunders.
I won’t even compare CC to Scott Kazmir. That’s like bragging about how I can slam dunk on a 6 year old.
In all seriousness, though, the Yankees do have the better pitching matchups, and they are the home team, and overall, they truly are the better team on paper.

NO on Holliday?
You’re kidding, right? After what we’ve seen from AJ the Whiffle Ball King?
That’s the same crazy talk that had us sit on our hands as the Phillies went out and won this year’s WS with Cliff Lee.
If we’ve learned anything from these playoffs it is you don’t let the “Horses” go when you can get them. If we are going to derail the Philles dyno-in-the-making we better get Doc to back up CC. AJ is NOT the answer in the 2-spot. He’s a regular season 3 guy on the Yankees. An "ace’ on the KC Royals.

Halladay is not a Holliday
and you are right — no on the later. I’m getting my vacation days mixed up.

Cliff Lee...
Bad example my friend… I can guarantee you he would would have been nowhere near as dominant in the AL – let alone the AL East.

The Phillies won the WS already?
Damn where the hell have I been? I thought that the Yankees were still playing, I must not be living in the same world you are cause in mine the WS hasn’t started yet unless you have a crystal ball that tells you the future our something. If you do can you please tell me the winning lottery numbers? Thanks I’d appreciate it.

My question is….are you retarded…..first of all….the series ends tomorrow night in NY with the rabid yankee fans smelling blood…we will put the angels in their place once and for all. THERE ARE NO ANGELS IN OUR OUTFIELD….LET’S GO YANKEEEEES!!!
Also forget holliday he is a bum. I wud much rather have chone figgins to leadoff and let jeter bat 2nd. That wud be an excellent 1-2 punch….fuggins is fast and a table setter and jeet is a clutch hitter. YANKEES IN 6

after seeing Figgy go 2-30 in the postseason
you guys still want him for $12M p/year?
I expect him to get dropped to the nine hole tomorrow and Sunday night.

First off it is only going 6
Saunders is going to get hit hard and Pettitte is honestly a better pitcher than AJ in the playoffs, expect him to throw a great game.
With AJ things are never easy. He has flashes of great pitching but he’s inconsistent as hell and not very reliable. Certainly not the best #2 guy out there, although he’s not bad as far as things go.
I would like to see us pick up Bedard, Harden, or Lackey to solidify the rotation. Holliday would be alright although Jason Bay would be better. Also, maybe someone to shore up the bullpen?

WHAT????
1: Holliday already proved himself not be able to compete in AL.
2: Bedard and Lackey are too injury prone.

I'd take Lackey in a heartbeat.

Not quite a heartbeat
I wouldn’t want to give him a 5 year deal, but since that’s what AJ got, that’s likely what it will take, especially if Moreno decides he has to bring Lackey back.

true...
if we didn’t have AJ (which…the Yanks would be out playing golf right now w/o him…) then OK.
I was just saying that Lackey isn’t so injury prone that I wouldn’t take him. After all, the Yanks have AJ Burnett on the team….Lackey is better and less injury prone.
But the Yanks have AJ, so its moot.

Forget to add
1. Where’d you come up with that $5M figure?
2. It should end tonight.

This ends right here
what is this “it’s going seven” talk? I’m expecting them to end this thing tonight!

no Holliday
the low-point of his career was in the AL, and the Yanks have said they’re not interested right now.
no on Halladay as well. i’d like to see a pitcher more consistent than Burnett, but it’d have to be in a trade to get Halladay. it’d take Chamberlain/Hughes + a number of minor leaguers. i wouldn’t make that deal.
let’s finish this season out first, and then go from there.
