Inexcusable
The Angels are a formidable foe, but there is no way the Yankee’s pitching should give back 3 runs after the offense scored six. Girardi really mismanaged the 7th and 8th innings. Horrible! Burnett and Hughes have to step up in the 7th and didn’t. I can’t believe what I witnessed in the bottom of the 7th.

OK fine … how about since Game 3 of the 2004 ALCS? Barry Bonds was terrible in the postseason – until he wasn’t. Ted Williams’ career stats in October are terrible. I’m not saying that Swisher is in that class at all, I’m just saying that a limited sample size gives you bogus stats. Like what’s in Joe G’s binder.
I have no problem starting Swisher against the lefty in Game 6. If it comes to a Game 7, then I’d consider putting Gardner in. That also gives you a power bat on the bench, since Swisher does have more HR potential than GGBG.
