Send this to McCarver's e-mail

as for his doorstep, a flaming brown bag of dogshit will do.

and

I still can’t believe McCarver was so adament about Torii Hunter being safe on that play. They showed the replays and it was so obvious that his foot was on the bag that Tex might as well have had first base as his shoe.

Such an idiot, but this is probably exhibit A to show people who say “I don’t get why you think McCarver is such an idiot”/

But McCarver had proof

in that he said Hunter had the best view and his reaction showed that he was safe. That’s what McCarver said on the air. I couldn’t believe my ears. What, Hunter couldn’t be biased? What a maroon.

really

every time Melky runs out a close grounder to first, he signals himself safe, but that doesn’t mean he is. i’d much prefer TBS to FOX.

Another McCarver idiotic comment....

How about in the 9th when Mo walked the leadoff man…McCarver proudly announced he thought he saw something was wrong with Mo’s warm ups in the pen before he came in. Next three batters? Non threatening outs. McCarver’s follow up? You guessed it…none.

His first comment on the ARod collision…what a great play by Mathis.

Makes me sick and if it weren’t for the delay, I would definitely go radio or stream play by play.

I could not agree more...

I just about stabbed myself in the eye when McCarver said he thought he saw something was wrong with Mo’s warmups. Who the hell is Tim McCarver? this guy is wrong nearly ALL the TIME!! listening to him is almost the same as drinking Drain-o and actually liking it. This is Fox’s A-Team? Buck is terrible too. I, and the rest of you, are stuck in purgatory, for the rest of this postseason having to listen to these donkeys.

As bad as TBS was, I without hesitation, would rather watch their broadcast then FOX’s
God help us all.

So right....

After letting my dogs outside, I ran back to the TV just in time to see an Angel on first and McGarver saying he saw something wrong with Mariano when he was warming up. Threw out my arms in horror, knocked over a glass of Coke and spent the next minutes cleaning it up as Mo cleaned out the next batters. What an absolute jerk that announcer is! He also announced, when Gardner came in and Damon went out, that Brett would be playing left field. Don’t these guys ever watch a Yankees game? Or would that be too hard for McGarver?

Wow awesome shot!

I can’t stand listening to Tim Mcarver. Hes a dickhead who hates the yankees. He was saying how terrible this call was. Wake up Tim, Torii was out!

McCarver and Buck should be fired

I have had it with these two and their anti-Yankee opinions. All they do is hope and pray for Yankee failure. They better hoping and praying because this year destiny is in the air. 27 27 27 27 27 27 27 27

Over at HH

some folks were complaining about national broadcasters’ bias FAVORING the Yankees… and how the announcers fawn all over the Yankees, and allegedly commit some rather lewd acts to please the Yankees, at least hypothetically…

by pinstriper on Oct 17, 2009 1:21 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I heard from over at OTM

that Pissant fans always complain that anouncers favor the Yankees…when all I hear from teh announcers is anti-Yank sentiment.

I guess its just what you’re listening too.

ITs just hilarious how we complain…yet the other side is saying the opposite.

McCarver the Ass

It is so obvious he hates the Yankees. He’s about 90 years old, and listening to his commentary let me put it this way id rather have John Sterling and Susan Waldman broadcast from my living room couch.

by bronx joey on Oct 17, 2009 11:02 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I like Sterling and Waldman.

I listen to them on the radio all season as I work at my computer in the evening. They’re like family… with their various idiosyncrasies, but still you become so familiar with them after a while, they become endearing.

On that same note, I’d rather have ANY of the Yankee radio and/or television broadcasters than these national guys.

Actually, it would be kinda hilarious listening to Michael Kay verbally beat up McCarver on-air about McCarver’s various misstatements… that would be classic!

by pinstriper on Oct 17, 2009 1:25 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

That would be pretty funny

I like Sterling, but not Waldman. Waldman drives me insane if I have to listen to her for a long period of time. I LOVE Sterling’s home run calls though. My radio is always a few seconds behind the TV, so when I’m watching on TV, if I see a home run, I quickly turn on the radio so I can hear Sterling’s call.

I must be nieve...

Because until I beacame a fan of this board. I never really payed attention to how bad the media rags on the yankees. I know there are quite a few anti-yankee fans but the more I listen to espn and fox the more I hate their networks.

I don't know.

I couldn’t tell who was more euthastic about the opposition winning.

TBS or FOX.

Yankees all day.

by Onishadow14 on Oct 17, 2009 2:17 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

definitely TBS....

I thought Chip Caray’s head might explode every time a Twin got on base.

Yesterday was really nothing new from Buck and McAardon since they both became a team on Fox. Tho, the blatant ignorance on that play with Tex and the whole “Rivera doesn’t have it after one batter” are 2 of the worst he’s had.

McCarver’s usually so anti-Yank that I just ignore it, but damn….those 2 really made him look dumber than he usually is….

TBS is way more enthusiastic

You know, I was at the game last night and I didn’t hear McCarver. Was he really that bad? Did he really say that Mo was off his game? Is Mo EVER off his game in the playoffs? What part of 0.75 ERA in the playoffs doesn’t he get?

It’s hard for me to think which one I prefer. Joe Buck has no enthusiasm, but he at least knows how to announce a baseball game, and is probably the best announcer in the playoffs (which is pretty sad). But McCarver is probably the WORST announcer in the playoffs, so it’s really hard to tell which ones better.

We’ll have to live with FOX though. So just hope McCarver keeps his mouth shut as often as possible.

Haven't posted in a while

I can’t stand either one of them. Although I seem to be able to stomach McCarver better without Buck. Buck just annoys me to no end. I still flash back to the Giants beating the Pats in the Superbowl and just the absolute horror in Buck’s voice as the Giants won the championship. I’ve always said that Buck should just stick to calling Cardinals games and get off the Fox Game of the Week team, hey at least then he could still call football games… I wonder which would be the lesser of two evils?
