Call Me Crazy, But I See A Good Chance At A Sweep

Maybe I`m being over-optimistic, but I just really like the mind set of the Yankees right now. The pitching so far has been incredible  with few exceptions and I don't see that changing against the Angels. The fact we took two out of three the last time we played them in their ballpark only makes my optimism even stronger. The only Angel pitcher we might have a problem with is Washburn, I don`t think we will have a problem scoring runs against Lacky or Kasmir, especially with our line -up and I expect Damon to start hitting in this series also and join A-Rod,-Tex, Godzilla, Posada, and Cano inshowing the Angels why the Yankees are the best team in baseball this year. The main reason I feel this way, besides A-Rod`s clutch hitting so far and our impressive pitching , is the X factor, we have D.J. and the Angels don`t have anyone , in my opinion, that can compare to his ability of always seeming to make the one play that can change what seems like a possible loss into a chance at another Yankee win. Maybe D.J. isn`t the best shortstop in baseball and maybe he is not even the Yankees MVP this year, but He`s the one I would depend on to come through with the clutch hit or the game saving play when the game is on the line

A sweep is very unlikely.

They’re a good ass team. This series is gonna be a battle and will most likely be settled in the 6th or 7th game.

Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

why?

you think the Angels were so much better than the Pissants?

The Yanks are on a mission this postseason.

They're too good...

To think about a sweep. I mean nothing’s impossible, but this is probably the best team the Angels have had including the one that won the World Series. They don’t have the classic Angels bullpen, which plays heavily in our advantage, but they have a better rotation than they’ve had before with the addition of Kazmir and they have a much better offense than the team that beat us in ‘05. That being said we’re a lot better too and it should be a pretty epic series. I say Yankees in 6.

FYI, the Angels have no pitcher named Washburn.

I'd love a sweep also

But I don’t see it. We just figured out how to beat these guys. I think we got em in 6 max.

My Mistake, I Meant Weaver

But I don`t think it matters what his name is,when the Yankees are done with him he may want to change his name to Washburn

I'D LOVE THAT!!!!

But the Angels are pretty damn good, and it’s going to be difficult. I would be surprised if it doesn’t go to 6 or 7 games.

Yankees should still win though.

it's hard to win 4 games in a row against a really good team

At the very least, one of their starters is bound to have an A-plus game, or one of their hitters will drive in a bunch of runs, or our bullpen will give up a bloop hit at the wrong time. Or one of a thousand other things. Or they just plain beat us. I think we’ll win, but it’ll take six.

def wont be a sweep bro

the angels are a very good team and have been for the last decade or so. their manager is in the top tier with guys like larussa, torre, cox, pinella etc. they also are playing with a chip on their soldier 1. to honor adenhard who was a beloved teamate, and 2. the finally destroyed the bo sox which no one thought they could do. and you are wrong about the angles no having a “guy” like DJ. yes DJ is fantastic but the angles has their own go to guys. hunter has been great and plays with a lot of passion. vlad is back, figgins is clutch, morales is a monster, abreu wants revenge etc. and are u serious about Lackey? CC against Lackey will be great and Lackey has good postseason exp. Look for a 6 or 7 game series fo sho

I have a feeling we might lose one game.

But other than that I KNOW we will win. By the way, how long could you possibly make those sentences? I was reading aloud to help warm up my vocals and I had to keep stopping to take a breath. I know it shouldn’t matter, but that is my pet peeve. Improper grammar. :P

I plan to live forever. So far so good.

I mean no one in their right mind EXPECTED an Angels sweep in round one. Some us us wanted it tho :)

I Agree With You GTWYankee

If we win the first two games, I think there is a good chance we can sweep. With Andy pitching game three against either Kasmir, Saunders, or Satana I like our chances of winning that game also, he`s a proven big game winner. Game four would be the Angels fighting for their life and with the depth of our bullpen I don`t think CPR will help

Probability the Yankees sweep is 7 or 8 %

or about one in fifteen. about twice as good as your chance of rolling snakeyes on one roll of the dice. It could happen, just don’t bet too much on it unless you get great odds.

If I's known I was going to live so long, I'd have taken better care of myself. Casey

Still have to play the games ...

I love the Yankees chemistry, swagger and confidence, but the Angels played some pretty good ball all season, too. Angel pitching is strong, and they are a much more complete team than the Twins. I don’t see a sweep (although it would be great) …

I see this going 5 to the evil empire.

OK

You’re crazy.

Of course sometimes crazy people get lucky and get it right, that’s why they play the games I suppose.
