Pavano... again
I was just wondering whether I was the only one hoping the Yanks could get the Twins in the opening round. Not only do I think the Twins would have been a softer option than Detroit but it would have set up an interesting situation. I personally would have loved to see the Yanks get some semblance of a return on Pavano's contract by getting a playoff win (attributable to his crappy starting pitching and or new buttocks injury in the first inning). Moreover, it would have been phenomenal to see how Yankee stadium would have "welcomed" the $40 million dollar bust. C'est la vie.

I was of the minority hoping it'd be the Tigers.
Sure, Verlander’s going to be a beast, but he’ll be going against CC. Jackson is their number two, and he’s been nothing short of awful in the second half. If he goes against Andy or AJ, I think we’ve got the upper hand to say the least. Same goes for Washburn, he’s been terrible since they picked him up, and we’d have the advantage going in. Blackburn shut us down earlier this year a couple times and Deunsing has been pitching well for the Twins. I’d love to boo Pavano along with everyone else and tag him for 8 runs, but more importantly, I’d like to win a world series.

actually
Verlander may not be going against CC. Verlander’s scheduled to pitch tomorrow, which would make him ineligable for game one. The Tigers will probably change that if they clinch today, but if not, then we may not be seeing Verlander in game one.
Either way, I’m pulling for the Twins. I want to beat the crap out of Pavano.

but- if the Tigers clinch today...
they can shorten Verlander’s start tmw and he’d be available. That’s a big if.

Careful what you wish for...
…we all wanted Detroit a few years ago (rather than the Twins with Santana), and the Tigers kicked the hell out of us.
At this point, I’m not rooting for or against anybody, whoever shows up on Wed. night in the Bronx, the Yanks will have to beat, end of story.

ehhh we already booed him when he beat us earlier in the year, id rather face tigers, the twins offense can be rather scary at times but the tigers offense is relatively easy to control.

I'm hoping for a tie.
That way the team that wins the tie-braker immediately after the game has to fly out to Yankee Stadium. Thus, giving us the advantage.
