Teixeira is Scott Boras's ultimate client, and he's very well-programmed . . . The Red Sox didn't know it, and in the end there was nothing they could do about it. He wanted to go to the Yankees, his wife doesn't like Boston -- apparently she doesn't like the stores on Newbury Street or something...
After making a single intelligent comment early in the week, Peter Gammons goes back to being the Red Sox stooge his is.

He is a great baseball writer no doubt. Its fine to appreciate the Red Sox and even be a fan as a writer. But being a fan can’t come before your writing. That statement is detrimental to Tex’s character. Tex wanted to come here. Peter just don’t use your influence to prejudice fans about someone’s character

NY is better, no question. not that Boston sucks or anything, it’s great for college students, but NY is NEW YORK, you know, the Capital of the World.
