Ex-Yankees stay in AL
Jason Giambi signed a one-year deal with his old team, the Oakland A's, for $5.25 million with a team option for 2010.
- Carl Pavano signed a $1.5 million, one-year deal with Cleveland. It could reach $6.8 million if he reaches certain performance bonuses (like make 18 starts).

Oakland
If their young pitching comes through look out, wild card team. Also i like Clevland as the best team in the central. Twins were rediculous with RISP last yr and i doubt they do it agian.

Carl immediately banged his elbow on the table once he was done signing the contract
He’s expected back in mid-July.

Actually...
Carl suffers from a severe, long-term illness that manifests itself in frequent and debilitating injuries to the shin, thigh, elbow, and buttocks. Other pitchers have also been known to suffer from the disease, although some, such as A.J. Burnett, have shown signs of remission. We can only hope that A.J.‘s condition doesn’t relapse into its more severe form, known as secondary progressive Pavanorrhea.
