Yanks reach free agent max

The Yankees have apparently reached their quota for Type-A free agents. No chance for Manny, Juan Cruz or Ben Sheets. Although I still believe that if/when Bobby Abreu signs elsewhere, they would be allowed to sign one more Type-A.

- Derek Jeter stole something from the old Stadium. It's fitting that he's the one to take it.

Jeter should do time

Last summer, my daughter and I traveled up to the stadium to take the tour. When we saw the sign, I told her, “I’d love to steal it and place it in our home.” I had to settle for a picture that we later blew up and framed. Now a picture of Jeter’s sign adorns by daughter’s bedroom wall.

Message to Jeter, “Yo, you’ve got so much. You date hot chicks. You could bail out the entire East Coast with the money you have. For godsakes, man, you drive an Edge! Don’t bogart the sign. Send it to me. I’ll polish it nice and treat it better than I treat my kids. C’mon, Derek. Do it for the people.”

That’s a reason right there why you shouldn’t get the sign.

Derek would never do something that would cause you to neglect your children!

If anyone should have that sign it is Derek Jeter, he more than anyone of teh current Yankees seem to embody the spirit of that – and take advantage of it. However the interesting question is how this might come up in 2 years when his contract ends.

Hey, if anyone personifies it, it’s Jeter. The “I want to thank the good Lord for making me a Yankee” signs are under $200 anyway, figure he could afford a few more!
