Comparing patches - Mets vs. Yankees

ESPN doesn't like the Mets' patch for the 2009 season.

Neither does Yahoo Sports.

Nor Pete Abraham.

the Mets patch

should be a red, white and blue silhouette of a guy choking, with the slogan “Different place, same problems.”

And the Yankees patch

should be of a silhouette of an overweight G. Steinbrenner behind a fan who is bent over in the doggy style position. Words would ring the patch saying: “Not even the God Damned courtesy for a reach around.”

so which

team wouldn’t shell out the dough to fill a need and let a top pitcher go to a division rival?

You think "I'm" not pissed about that one?

Yes, you can put me on the “I hate Omar” bandwagon!

re: the mets patch

i just love how somebody got paid to “design” that. it’s laughable at best, and very very sad on another level..

I don't know

It looks like a $72M design to me.

Mets Patch ...

In our overly sensitive PC society, I’m afraid an apology might be due little Freddie Hernandez the second-grader in Mrs. Anistacio’s class who designed the Mets logo. When asked about the design, the youngster replied:

“I came to the United States to pursue my dream as a graphic artist. To everyone who hates the design, kiss my ass!”

As much as I hate to say it.

That’s pretty damn funny.

Someone got paid for this?

Did they at least spend more than five minutes on it?

Any chance that

they didn’t put the name of the new stadium on the mets patch because they were afraid that with the financial crisis that they may need a new sponsor?

Fair enough.
But how about some sort of symbol to connect that patch to the idea of a stadium?
How about a big apple in a top hat?

Yeah...

maybe they….

I guess if they were smart they wouldn’t be working for the Mets
