Can the Yankees sign another A type free agent?
With Lowe being rumored to have been offered a seemingly bargain priced contract of $12 million per year for 3 years by the Mets, I was wondering what fellow Yankee fans think about the Yankees offering a 3 year, $42 million contract with an automatic one year extension at $14 million if Lowe pitches in excess of 150 innings in his third year?
If it is interesting, then the next question is can the Yankees sign another Type A free agent since they have already signed three?

The Yankees can sign just 1 more type A or B free agent
according to MLB rules teams are bound to signing a Max of 3 type A or B free agents in any offseason, but can sign as many type A or B free Agents as they have lost and in this case the Yankees have lost 4. Abreu, Mussina, Pettitte, and Ivan Rodriguez. Strange how Giambi didnt crack the top 20 by position, maybe MLB new the Yankees were going to spend like kings this offseason and told Elias to leave him off the list. Doubt that though.
With all that said I am going to say Cash and Co. should take a pass of D.Lowe and play it out with Hughes, Aceves, possibly Kennedy, Coke, a resigning of Andy or a mid-season trade. I think the real key to the Yankees rotation is the Health of Burnett, if he can stay off the DL and give 35 starts then I believe the Yankees will be fine. Time will tell though.

Let's give Andy 12 million or get Manny
I think we should just sign Andy to 12 and if not let’s get Manny I would love to see him jack a ball over the Green Monster in a Yankee Uniform. If not Andy knows the Yankees love him and he loves the Yankees and wants to open the New Ballpark so let’s get this deal done

I'm over Pettitte...
The 10 million offer was very generous for him at this point in his career. If he thinks he is worth more then that, he should hit the open market and see what he can do.
Does anybody know why the Yankees aren’t making a push for Sheets? I know he is a health risk, but when he’s healthy, he’s pretty nasty.

Health risk
The health risk factor is not a minor thing. It’s the primary reason he hasn’t had a single offer by any team yet.
Teams are reading his medicals and running for their lives.
Everyone knows Sheets is nasty when healthy, but he can’t help them if he’s not on the mound.
