New Staduim cheats Old fans

I have had the Sunday ticket package for a few years now.  It's great!  I get Opening Day, Old Timers Day and every Sunday home game. It's perfect for those of us who work a lot but still want to go out and see our team.

I have been very excited because not only do I get to go to the very last game at the old Stadium, but my package also includes opening day.  So I will be able to see the first game at the new Stadium too.  Right?  Wrong!

Seems they can make more money shutting out the old ticket holders and selling that game alone or including it only for the big shots and casual fan ready to ante up for the historic day.

This really leaves a sour taste in my mouth.  I can put up with $11 beers, constant ticket price increases and sometimes mediocre play.  But this really sucks. I look forward to seeing my Sunday games at the new Stadium next year.  But it will probably be the last ticket package I buy.

There is a difference between "loving" the Yankees and "being screwed" by them.  Seems that, with the new Stadium, screwing long time fans is the plan. That's loyalty for ya :(

It's not about you--the fan

My buddy Dave called me a few days back. For the first time since 1984 he’s not going to be a Yankees season ticket holder. He echoed your sentiments, and added, “I feel like the loving wife who’s just discovered she’s been cheated on. I gave 20+ years of my life to the organization through good times and bad and this is how they treat me—jacking up the prices to the point that no human being can afford to attend.”

It’s not about the fans, and hasn’t been for a very long time. I told Dave to save his money and by the YES package on DirecTV.

On the other hand

There are now 15 game packs with all 13 Saturdays or all 13 Fridays plus two other games. While I loved the opening day old timers pairing I’m thinking of shifting to Saturday.

The plus is with our seniority we ought to be able to get better seats with better sight lines.

I’m possitive about the changes but am waiting to see what comes as the other 2 games.

Face it, with all it’s history, and the history is much exagerated, the old stadium is a dump. It is constantly dirty. The fan space is small. I can’t see most of left field from my seat.

Let’s go see the new place and see if it’s an upgrade.

Despite the b.s.

of being jerked around by the Yankees for tix, skyrocketing prices, etc. I’m alittle jealous that you are even in the position to order season tix. For guys like me living in VA, Yankee Stadium is a dream. I’ve gone to probably 200 games when I lived in Jersey, and loved every minute of them.

I hope it works out well for you.

The morons here see everything through rose colored glasses

They have basically said F-you to the fan base that drew over 4 miilion for years and made the new Stadium possible. The hell with this stupid, greedy franchise.

you're a bit...

how can i say this? angry. you dont have to attend the games and are welcome to join the fan base of any (less ’greedy’) team you like. but good luck finding one.

Grow up

If there is a moron it’s you.

I when you are in NYC things are expensive. I went to Hair in central park. $160 a seat. Yankees are a great entertainment value and CHEAP compared with Broadway, Carnegy Hall, Metropolitan Opera, etc, etc.

These seats are ingreat demand. Everyone who wants them is a fan.

Are you complaining that the best seats go to people willing to pay? Wake up, grow up, welcome to the world. I’m glad to by my 15 $25.00 seats.

I love my team, money well spent.
