Melky Cabrera will make his first start since August 13.  He has yet to have an at-bat since he was recalled from Scranton.

Clayton Richard has never faced the Yanks or any of their hitters.  He is 1-3, 7.71 ERA, 1.90 WHIP in 6 games (4 starts) on the road this season.

Phil Hughes is a lifetime 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 0.50 WHIP in one start (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 K) that was cut short as a result of a long rain delay early this season.

I guess

the game threads are not too hot these days

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

Why not make Phil Coke a starter?

He does have good stuff and know how to throw strikes.

He was a starter this season

He was close to his innings cap for 2008, so they converted him to the pen – ala Joba last season.

But I think he’s more likely to be a reliever in the bigs than a starter – unlike Joba.
