I was there too
I actually learned about the Mick’s death when George Will began to talk about it on one of the Sunday morning talk shows. I immediately grabbed my Yankees jersey out of the closet and raced down to the 4 train to the Stadium. I had missed seeing Mickey Mantle the year before when he was signing copies of “All my Octobers” at a bookstore near my office. I did not want to miss his memorial at Yankee Stadium.
