Nice catch by Abreu.

Damn, I wish I could selectively mute McCarver.

I hate games

on Fox… I want an option to mute the announcers.

Carlos Zambrano just hit an opposite field homerun at Wrigley

It was no cheapie either. He smoked that ball. I’d take his bat over Melky’s anytime.

you still on Gameday? If so, what’s Giese’s pitch count?

by emille2 on Aug 9, 2008 4:54 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm wondering how long Giese can go today

He may only have 80-90 pitches in him and that could be a problem without a long man.

Hopefully, he keeps throwing strikes and doesn’t have a long inning.

Never mind......

I didn’t realize this was the 5th inning already. That’s what happens when you can’t watch the damn game on TV.

That sounded nice off the bat

Next inning is big for Giese

He may not have a lot left and the heart of the order is coming up. 6 innings from Giese would be sweet.

I'll take 1 ER in 6.0 IP from any Yankee pitcher

Good for him. He certainly earned himself another start.

It's funny

In an attempt to praise the virtue of it, McCarver just gave a perfect explanation for why the hit and run is stupid.

it's official

mc carver’s an effin moron

Girardi

had Ramirez warming in the 6th for relief of Giese, then brings in Veras in 7th, and Ramirez has to warm up again

Gerardi = Torre II

Gerardi is another Torre - over-managing to the team’s detriment.

It doesn’t help when A-Rod chokes in every clutch situation, though….

This has been one of the most frustrating seasons in decades. I’m taking a week off from watching.

mccarver is such a frickin

asshole..

he’s going on and on about how the yanks have so little money tied in their starting pitching, and that’s why they are struggling, and using today as an example.. um.. starting pitching wasn’t the issue today, dipshit.

"if you are going to overpay, overpay for pitching"

you know, the most volatile, unpredictable commodity in the sport.

i feel like i waste a lot

of breath complaining about Tim McDumbass. He thinks he knows everything as a former catcher… too bad he played like 50 years ago..
