Humberto Sanchez has run out of time on his rehab assignment -- rehabbing pitchers get 30 days -- but he felt something in his elbow during his last Gulf Coast League appearance, which is why he hasn't been pitching. Contreras said it's his understanding that the Yankees can essentially call this a new injury, put Sanchez back on the DL and get another 30 days.

Chad Jennings
I had hoped that Sanchez would at least be pushing his way back to the majors by now. This season has been another disappointing one for the centerpiece of the Gary Sheffield trade.
