Derek Jeter

(clap clap clap-clap-clap)

Edwantsacracker and I were on hand for Jeter's 2000th hit- a squib that should have been a throwing error on the catcher.

#2500 wasn't much more impressive; it was just a dying quail that Brian Roberts couldn't get back on.  The ball hit Roberts' glove, but the degree of difficulty spared him the error.

Here's hoping Jeter's 3000th is a ringing double down the right field line.

Who cares how Jeter got his 2000th hit or his 2500th. And who cares how he get 3000. The only thing that matters is that he got them. For every one of those gay little hits Jeter has gotten 50 huge hits. Playoffs or otherwise. The guy is going to end up somewhere between 3400 – 3700 hits. By the end of next year he should be around 40th on th all time list. He wont catch Rose or Cobb but he has a shot at Aaron or Musial. So I dont care if his 3700th is a rountine fly that is dropped and they give him the hit anyway. A hit is a hit is a hit. Ya know?

I'll add

Getting them is great, but getting them in a win is all the better.
