You know those corny Yankee feature magazines the vendors sell? Reporting from Sunday's game at the Stadium, Edwantsacracker told me that this week's cover story was "Melky Cabrera: Centerfielder of the Future".
And he didn't think to buy it for me.
A very special prize (most likely my eternal gratitude) to anyone who can scan and email me the cover of this prescient and opportune feature. Bonus points (and perhaps a copy of Frank Strauss' Dawn of a Dynasty, about the '47 Yankees) to anyone who can send me the photo and a decent write-up of the offending article.

It’s the cover story for the August magazine/scorecard. I have two copies, actually. I got one at one of the games against the Angels, then another one last Friday – the day he got sent down. (My dad and I shared a laugh about that; I’m pretty sure we made the same joke as above (CF of the future for Scranton))
True story: there’s a note inside (I think it’s the letter from the editor) that says that they got so many great shots during the photoshoot, they made two different covers – one for the newsstand (and Stadium) and one for subscribers. I don’t remember much about the article – a typical magazine piece about how hard he works and how much he loves playing for the Yankees, etc. I’d scan it in for you but (a) it’s at home; and (b) I don’t have scanner.
