PREGAME NOTES:
- Yanks have lost 3 straight games after winning 8 straight.
- Here's a remarkable stat for you: Mariano Rivera has now compiled 1000.1 IP during his Hall of Fame career. His 2.30 ERA is the lowest of any player who debuted after 1914 with at least 1000 IP.
- Melky Cabrera has gone 40 AB without an RBI and has just 4 RBI over his last 35 games (132 AB).
- Dennis Sarfate is a lifetime 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 0.50 WHIP in 3 relief appearances against the Yanks (4.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 6 K). He is making his first major league start.
- Joba Chamberlain is a lifetime 0-0, 1.50 ERA, 1.33 WHIP in 7 relief appearances against the Orioles. He is 1-1, 1.83 ERA, 0.92 WHIP over his last 3 starts (19.2 IP, 16 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 26 K).
- Orioles' hitters vs. Chamberlain can be viewed here. Yanks' hitters vs. Sarfate can be viewed here.
- Jorge Posada is scheduled to have his shoulder surgery today. His rehab is expected to be a minimum of 6 months, so the best-case scenario would have him ready for Spring Training if all goes well.

Joba's still pitching
Can I stop panicking and assume he’s fine?

thank you
I need to run out and buy new underwear. But at least I won’t be crying when I do it. Well, not because of Joba, anyway.

Do you guys see that there
seems to be lot less love for CAno?
Do you think he could leave ala Soriano? I hate to see us give up on him.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)
Agreed
Soriano was great but we got A-Rod for him. If someone like that gets offered, I say Cano is not untouchable. I don’t see that kind of deal happening again though so I’d prefer to hold onto Cano.

I had a fantasy trade cooked up
Cano, Cabrera, A. Gonzalez and a couple of pitchers for Hanley Ramirez . Then I checked Ramierz’s contract status and realized he’s not going anywhere soon. It was a nice fantasy while it lasted.

well, that's 3 games for Ramierz
He could’ve at least hit him, if he’s going to get a suspension.

How come Yankee pitchers never hit anybody?
I know they do from time to time but it always seems like an accident when they do. Here and with Youkilis we get close but never acctually put anybody on their ass.

Yeah, but that doesn't matter
It’s the intent more than anything else. Edwar looks guilty, though. He didn’t even flinch when he got tossed.
I'm just sayin...
If you’re gonna throw at a guy, you might as well hit him

This looks like a payback call
Threw out an O yesterday.

be glad he got tossed.
I saw the box score showing him throwing 1 pitch and thought he injured himself.
Too bad you can't bottle a few runs to use when you need them.

The Farnsworth Era Ends. YES!!!!
Buster Onley is reporting that Farnsworth is being sent to the Tigers for Ivan Rodriguez. Sounds good to me.

NY Yankees are the best
I’m a big Yankees fan, coz they are really professional baseball team! I used to attend their games just to see their professional plays. They have captivated millions of fans. And they are also the best-selling American team even their tickets are hard to come by and often sky high. Thankfully I found a website where I found cheap ones. Now I will have the chance to attend all their games with low prices. Here is the link; I thought this will interest you:
