Ponson Is Bad.

There is no other way to put it. The back end of our rotation is really bad. We really need to send Ponson packing. I really didn't know why everyone hated him until last sunday when he stunk it up against the Red Sox. I propose that we forget about Ponson and bring up Ian Patrick Kennedy.

As for Rasner, we are going to have to put up with Rasner allowing two baserunners an inning until september. I have really just been disappointed in our pitching staff the last couple days. Our bullpen needs to pull things back together.

On a positive note, I would kile to say that Iam proud of my team coming back and making it a game. Too bad that Wilson Betemit ruined it.

Now I'm going to go eat five hot pockets because the Yankees are making me sad =[

Here's the problem, though

I have a feeling that Rasner will be one moved out of the rotation if they promote Kennedy or trade for Washburn.

Rasner can be moved to the pen or sent down. Ponson really can’t.

I’d prefer to get rid of Ponson as well but I’m not sure Cashman would feel that way.

Yes, let Ponson

get shelled once more. That will make the choice obvious and give IPK one more start in Scranton. Then, if all cylinders are firing, Ponson gets his pink slip and IPK fills in the rest of the season.

I believe this is called

the ‘Give ‘Em Enough Rope’ strategy.

Ponson bad....Rasner acceptable

Ponson averages 5 1/3 innings per start, gives up 6.07 runs/9 innings, has a 1.88 WHIP, and average 4 strikeouts per 9 innings.

Ranser averages 5 2/3 innings per start, gives up 5.14 runs/9 innings, has a 1.53 WHIP, and averages 5.6 strikeouts per 9 innings.

Neither is going to win the Cy Young, but CLEARLY, Rasner is the better pitcher. Since 2005, Ponson has been released outright 5 times. Cashman should make it a 6th.

Fat Sid pitches again on Friday vs. the Angels. God help us. As much as I want him to get shelled so the Yanks will release him, we don’t have much margin for error, and I’d hate to miss the postseason by a game or two – because I’ll remember his start against Boston this past Sunday, and whatever other lousy starts he makes from here on out until they release him.

Can’t SOMEBODY in Triple AAA do better than a 6.08 ERA and a 1.88 WHIP????
