This is what I love
A grind it out win today for the Yanks. These are the games that give us hope for another postseason appearance in October. Pettitte displayed a dominant performance and timely hitting did the rest. These low scoring victories are what make a team great and seeing the bombers pull out a close one is very satisfying. This type of win reminds me of (gulp) the late 90's. I'm not carried away, I only said this type of win reminds me. This series against Oakland shows that all is not lost. There is life and heart in this team. Winning with pitching and not the three run bomb is always just a little sweeter. I love the big clout but these games are what it's all about. Pettitte was like a bulldog and once again went deep into the game. Our pen picked it up at the end and that was that. Stringing together wins gives a team confidence and makes up ground in the standings. Boston and Tampa Bay will be feeling the heat coming. They know exactly who they're dealing with and deep down are concerned whether they admit it or not. The bullpen clicking. The starters going deep into games. The offense coming through lately when it's time to roll. The heat is on and we're coming after the usual suspect and the unusual suspect. We are not running on empty and have just filled up for the long haul. This is what I love.

Agreed that this weekend was very satisfying, but
with Ponson and Karstens coming up, I hope they start clubbing soon.

I mean Rasner, of course.

Good position ...
If we have to be behind, this is the position to be in. The two teams out front are losing, and we’re winning. I like the way things are shaping up-especially the starting pitching-kinda’ makes me forget about Kennedy and Hughes.
I do think we need to seriously consider grabbing a quality OF bat—perhaps Bay, or to a lesser degree DeJesus.

i'm on board for Bay
and I read somewhere that he may actually cost less in prospects because of all the money that comes with him.
